Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

Browns have been better without him. Get some defensive players for him and move on.

But their ceiling on offense is lower without him. Who you want one on one outside today, OBJ or DPJ?

This is lazy thinking. They have the resources to get defenders. And why would you sell low?

Did you see the athletes at receiver the chiefs had today?

Did you see the guys we have? Jarvis is a great player... But the rest are pedestrian.

They played better without him. Mmmkay.

From a team standpoint Baker involves more players in the passing game when OBJ isn’t there. He seems to force the ball to OBJ when he’s on the field when he has other guys open. They made the playoffs without him. I’m not saying sell low just to get rid of him. I’m saying though that they can probably get some good value for him and improve their defense at the same time.

Baker did a lot of what seem to be dumb things the first half of the season. Chubb, Landry and Beckham (yep him too) bailed him out. Honestly I still don't think they sre using Hooper right... Landry comes and goes because hes the only guy to really fear.

Look at Hunts actual stats down the stretch... Not great honestly, but he's a hell of a football player. The one thing I learned about Odell the last year is, he's actually not a prima dona - he likes to block and play football. Give me that guy instead of some pussy speed only guy. They are all gonna be fucked in the head. They're WRs. Plus, its Mayfield's team now. That is big thing

I explained this a while back but ODB being on the field is a Baker problem, not an Odell problem. I don't have the stats in front of me but I would bet money the amount of man coverage and designed pressures went up double digits the 2nd half of the season with him out.

Truth is, this team lacks a vertical threat. They lack an "eyes on" perimeter player. I've also said aloud, because of his relatively young age, if the Browns are intent on saving $ and moving on from ODB, I've also appreciated Brandon Cooks game. Legit vertical burner too.

Hooper is a pass catcher on a run-first team. He's a good player, but I don't remain convinced that this team doesn't see every bit the success if they would have retained Fells and just rolled with Bryant & Njoku as well. Hoop isn't much of a vertical TE threat and I'm not good paying a Dallas Clark mold top TE money in the modern NFL.

As for Hunt? He's a fine RB. But his cross center cutback vision is incredibly hit and miss compared to Chubbs elite eyes when we run OZ. That's the biggest difference between the two.

You really deserve football misery if you let Chad Hennes corpse run for 15 yards on 3rd and 14
The blame for that play lies directly on the feet of the Browns DC Woods who dropped our LB's and the entire defensive backfield almost 20 yards from the line of scrimmage. He has done that in similar situations this season when it has been third and long for the opposing team. That strategy has backfired almost every time.

When you have the safety play that you do (really, a lack of) your depth of spot zone drop for your underneath in our 2 shell has to be deeper to compensate for the problem that is sendejo and Joseph.

On top of that, the TE stunt to that side got eaten up and let's be real... who the hell saw Henne scrambling for 13 yards here? Credit the Chiefs where credit is due, they saw personnel problems that had to be covered up and made plays.

When the Browns call me... I will say... draft DBs in 6 of the 7 rounds and a LB somewhere in between

and sign that kid Blake Hance.. dude was amazing.. for someone they took off the streets an hour before Pittsburgh game...

My wish list for the draft is a cover corner, two safeties, and two linebackers in the first five picks.
I feel like defense is for sure gonna be a heavy focus. Maybe have a speed WR added in, or signed in FA, but almost every draft pick should be for defense. First round, target an edge rusher to replace Vernon, or the best DL available. Second round, LB. Third round, best defensive player available and a DB. Then maybe look at offense after that.

I would love to get Wade in the 3rd round if they could pull that off. He would be a good fit at 3rd CB/S especially since they can't count on Delpit and Greedy being 100% healthy. I have a feeling the DL will be a bigger issue than most since I'm pretty sure they are going to lose at least 2 starters from this year. They already have Billings coming back at DT, but they need a DE opposite Garrett and another DT. I feel Berry doesn't value LB, but I can see the first round pick going with the best LB or DE depending on how they have the players ranked. I think they could probably get by with the other LB's they have if they could add a Pro Bowl caliber LB in the middle. They could fill in the rest of the draft with BPA DB's and LB's. Special bonus if they could end up with Wade and Togiai.

Certainly the Browns having two 3s and two 4s is gonna help them build some depth on defense that they really need. I am an optimist, I want to believe Greedy and Delpit are going to be healthy and play well next season. So while they could logically add a couple of DBs in the draft around rounds 3-5, I really don't like the idea of using a 1st on a safety as I have seen in some mocks. I would say that their first round pick should be whomever brings the most to the table in terms of edge rush, so long as they are getting good value with the pick. LB I could see waiting until the 3rd if they use one of the first picks to get a deep threat WR.
