Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

We definitely need to resign JR. He is perfect as a backup for offense off the bench, and his defense is underrated.
We still have a huge hole at backup PG. We absolutely need to add a quality player at that position.
I would love to have Mills or Joseph from the Spurs.

Says talks have stalled, and LBJ isn't negotiating until his deal is done first.
So i guess Lebron decided that Thompson is worth more than 5 years 85? or 4/80 like was reported earlier.... It pays to have Lebron like you ... this is the part about having Lebron that I hate... Having to give in to his every whim to keep him here and happy

Edit: Now that I see they are angling for David West... could it be a Cap move to keep Thompson & Lebron off the books until he's signed?

I get that LeBron wants all his guys back, but he isn't even willing to speak to other free agents, like David West, to get them to Cleveland.

Are we really having this discussion about Tristan fucking Thompson? I don't think LeBron would leave if Thompson somehow didn't come to a deal with the Cavs, but this is ridiculous. It's Tristan Thompson.

And LMA to the Spurs is bad news for the Cavs.

Thompson is RFA so Cavs really dont have to do crap they tender an offer, if noone else offers then he signs for that money or doesn't play (is my understanding) ... Thompson making as much or more than LMA (to be a BACKUP PF/C) is a fucking joke....

definitely agree ... LMA to the Spurs is scary

Thompson has no leverage... until LeBron holds out on his behalf. After that move he has all the leverage in the world. Thompson will make whatever LeBron says. The Cavs should pay the man. In pure basketball terms I don't think he's worth it. However, even bad contracts become an asset at some point and if he never gets better he at least he'd be worth something that way.

Did someone forget to tell Thompson his only skill is rebounding? He cant even dribble his way out of the post...Forget about offense.
13M wasn't enough, 16M isn't enough, Hell Kyrie is only making 18M. What does Thompson want? Kobe money? lol

Draymond Green got 17M per year and he can actually drive and shoot 3's.
Aldridge was making 13M over 5 years. Now he is making 20M over 4 years.
These guys have offense, Thompson does not.

The most Thompson could sign with another team is for four years and just under $70 million.

I expect the Spurs will be in the Finals. Parker, Leonard, Aldridge, That's a legit big 3. Plus they have Green and Duncan.

His greatest skill isn't rebounding. His greatest skill is being smart enough to hire LeBron's agent. Good for him. Get paid. This ain't about stats. It's about the Cavs not being able to afford to let him walk.
