Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

The guy may be a twat but Jim Brown should be mentioned.

His name has a "J" in it which seems to be a major prerequisite BUT he isn't Ohio born.

Steph Curry? j/k
Psycho Jimbo? Ha! Just had to.
Brother John? Of course not
George Steinbrenner?
Roger Clemens?

None of these guys did meaningful things in Ohio. It has to be Paul Brown. Nobody else but Paul Brown.

I am a fair weathered fan that jumped in at the right time.

That said, I don't know much about the machinations of the Cavs.

How likely is it that Love gets traded? I have nothing against the guy, but he just doesn't seem to fit in, and both he and the Cavs could be better in different situations.

My theory with Love is he sticks around. The Cavs still need guys to log heavy minutes in the regular season and score points. Love does that. Golden State was just a bad match up for him. I thought Love had a solid playoff overall.

I lean towards him being dealt, for one major reason...they've done just fine without him when he's been out. I think they feel out the trade market, and if they think they can get a return that makes them better, they deal him. A point could be made that he's not even one of the 5 most valuable pieces of that roster.

Yeah, by fair weathered, I mean I only just watched the finals to support my Ohio peeps. So I have never seen Love otherwise.

He didn't seem to get credit for some great work off the score sheet, btw. It just seemed like in a different system he could be doing more.

I think I read that today Lue said Love wasn't going anywhere. I get why moving him would make sense against the Warriors, but Love can be huge against other teams. Love is the 3rd best player on the team, which was important the first half of the season when Kyrie was out. He definitely had his moments this year. If I were Grif I would bring everyone back as long as the price is right for guys like Timo and Delly. RJ just said he would come back for another year. Horrible job of bleeping Lebron's speech.

It all depends on what offers they get. The Cavs are in the driver's seat now. If they get a garbage offer, they can simply say no. They are no longer in panic mode, and it's up to someone else to wow them. I think the Celtics fail to trade their draft picks, get desperate, and offer the Cavs Crowder and Bradley or Crowder and Smart. CJ McCollum and Jimmy Butler (although unlikely) are both in play as well.

I know everyone is sentimental after the championship, but the Cavs can do better than Love. Because he can't defend the rim, Love needs to play the 4, and as we saw in the Finals, this team is best with LeBron at the 4 and Thompson at the 5. They need to add wings and a defense-first center who can come off the bench.

I agree that as Lebron ages he is going to evolve into a 4 rather than a 3. Given that the Cavs no longer need to make a move I don't know if I would go for something like Crowder/Bradley for Love. Maybe if the Celtics sweeten the deal with the right draft pick it could make the Cavs want to make a deal. I personally think that Bradley and Crowder would make the Cavs better against the Warriors, but overall I just don't know if it's worth it. Too bad the draft is tomorrow so there isn't enough time to make a move beforehand.

Neither was Jessie Owens, but I would still put both of them on it.
