  • In only their 4th season of FBS football, CC stands 10-0 after knocking off 9-0 BYU, 22-17.

I visited this school in the late 90s. Back then all I knew was how close they came to knocking Bobby Knight's Hoosiers out of the 1991 NCAAs before succumbing in the final 5 minutes, 79-69. Two years later scUM knocked them out of the Dance but that was later vacated so to me that's a fucking win.

We were vacationing in Myrtle and the weather was just awful one day, so I decided to take a drive out to Conway - about 10 miles - and see this little school. Nice campus, and it's only grown since then. If I was 18 again I might just go to school there - I can think of many worse places.

But now they play football, and they're pretty good at it. I just hope their coach doesn't run to the first no-chance-in-hell SEC job that comes a-calling.

Coach has roots in Tennessee, but the volunteers screwed up and gave Pruitt an extension through 2025 a couple of months ago. I’m sure he won’t be there long but it’s nice to see him be on the 2nd best team in South Carolina and much better than uSC
My son knows Coach Chadwell. He was a position coach at Charleston Southern (I think he was the running backs coach) while my son played on the defensive line.... My son raved about him....

94 for Coastal played great but honestly he should have been ejected for what he did at the end of the first half.

Fortunately neither 94 or 34 threw a punch which would have been an automatic ejection; but, as a minimum both should have been flagged for an "unsportsman like conduct" penalty and given the "1st offense warning", etc., i.e. "if a player is flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct twice in the game, he is automatically disqualified after the second offense."

I’ll possibly get on board with 94 getting a penalty as he got a bit rough on the initial takedown and subsequently when the QB tried getting up. But I see absolutely nothing wrong with anything that 34 did on that play. If this was an Olineman pancaking a DE and then continuing to drive them into the ground we would praise them for their “nastiness”. If this wasn’t a QB it would be a non-issue. There was an INT return going on during most, if not all of this before the ref jumped in.
