I agree with everything you are saying. We need to pay the Hawks back for the 6-1 beat down they gave us a couple weeks back.

As a fan I'd rather they lose 8-1 than lose like that. A loss like this could send this young team into a tail spin. Sunday's game is going to be very telling. A game they should win and NEED to win. Hopefully they can recover mentally from tonight because this game was a huge kick in the balls.

5 points to seal a playoff bid. Really unless they completely collapse (or if they go 0-3-2 and Toronto somehow goes 3-0 to end the season) they should own every tiebreaker with one more win since Toronto could only get 41 wins.

Reaching the playoffs seems pretty feasible, it's the number of points they've pissed away late that is still bothersome as they could have possibly pulled out some decent seeding, instead of sitting at #8 just waiting to get swept Rd 1.

Though, I'm sure that could be said, and you might attest to as a Wings fan, for a lot of the teams in those #6-10 spots (blowing points).
