Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

Just sayin': The local news station (WSYX/WTTE) reported that the Crew allowed 1500 people to attend the game; and some of the people that got the tickets resold their tickets for over $1000 each....

No more than puzzle pieces here...

Chris Cadden transfer latest as Hibs close in on Columbus Crew star
The defender looks set for a move back to Scotland with Jack Ross keen to secure him during the January transfer window.

Hibs are closing in on a permanent deal for Chris Cadden.

Columbus Crew look set to release the Scotland midfielder to allow him to return home.

At right back, Afful’s contract option was picked up and he will return for his seventh season in Black & Gold. The Ghanaian turned 34 this past July and had some uneven performances at times before playing strong defense through the playoffs. Cadden’s status up in the air after recent transfer reports appeared. He made nine appearances, including three starts in 2020 but didn’t push Afful for starting minutes.

Right back. Afful is 34 and showed signs of slowing down at times during 2020. He wasn’t quite the same two-way player as he was previously. The timeframe to look for another starting right back is rapidly approaching and given the reports around Cadden, it doesn’t look like he’s the guy The Crew could also make a bigger splash, adding a higher-priced allocation-level signing and try to replace the incumbent starting right back immediately. This becomes the team’s top priority if Cadden leaves.

Former Seattle Sounders standout and current Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin is being pursued by an Eastern Conference MLS club, according to a Monday report from Ives Galarcep.

Per Galarcep, an unnamed team has made a TAM offer for the services of Yedlin — an offer the player is said to be considering.

And the obvious is that Caleb Porters was Yedlins Coach at Akron...

Just something to watch.... the last article here seems to imply that its for targeted allocation money not a DP slot. Now, in MLS all the salary stuff is clear as mud most of the time.. things get funded weird ways. Also Yedlin has some other offers, apparently in Turkey and Bundesliga (I guess I read "Germany" maybe specifically) but its not gonna be super cheap. The transfer thing seems like not that big of a deal since he's out of contract in the summer.

See what happens, its a pretty big investment for a RB I think, but, Harrison isn't getting any younger and well, the future is now.
