It's very unfortunate that things are ending badly for him at OSU. Although he's going to have to shoulder some blame for this disaster, it can't be all his fault. I don't know what really happened but I'm sure he's going to learn dearly from this mistake. Sooner or later, he's going to want to redeem himself and start coaching again.

This is a long shot but I want him to end up at Penn State. JoePa can't really hang on for that much longer and I honestly thought that Tressel would end up staying at OSU for a long time just like JoePa at PSU (before all this yahoo stuff). It's a long shot because Tressel probably has too much respect for OSU to coach again in the BT. If I'm the AD at PSU I would give this a very thorough consideration. The chance of Tressel making another mistake like this would be nil and he already proved that he can coach. PSU would be spared a painful rebuilding period (like Michigan perhaps) if they can bring him in.

What would you think if he ends up at PSU?

Where would you like him to end up?

I do not believe that Jim Tressel will coach again.

Tressel was very close to retirement before this broke.

That could be, but it will probably because he doesn't want to start at a small school again and work his way up. I don't think he will leave the game like this if he gets the chance to redeem himself. He might've retired already if there weren't a couple NCs that slipped right through his fingers. If he wanted to hang it up, he would've bolt when he smelled trouble (just like PC from USC). There was no sense in trying to hang around to draw more NCAA fire. I think that if Ohio State nation is okay with him returning to coaching else where, he will.

No, he was retiring because his life has always been about more than football. His impact on communities and people has always dwarfed his success on the gridiron. The investigation is why he resigned, but he was leaving in the next few years since before he even recruited Pryor.

He also directly answered any questions about him coaching long into the future with quick dismissals, which is notable for a coach who almost never answers the questions asked of him.

That's almost as long of a shot as him coaching at State College. With all the NCAA show in town, it would be awhile before he can return to coaching in Columbus.

He didn't say he was going to coach again in Columbus, he said he wanted Tressel to be able to retire peacefully in Columbus.

In case you decide to misread anyone else's posts, I'll sum it up for you:

HE IS NOT GOING TO COACH AGAIN!

We're seeing a lot of things happening that appear to be incredible; following that course, I have to think it is possible that JT's Berea boyhood dreams about being involved with the Cleveland Browns could, somehow, materialize.

We all know that this present situation is not going to break him.
