It's hard for things to look bad for ANY team regarding next year's recruiting class at this point. LOTS and lots of potential for each individual hs football player, and those guys are just starting to find out who has interest in them

Next year looks real good for OSU...I mean REAL good. Look for the BP Recruiting Team to have a blog on the 2007 class going sometime around the beginning of the new year.

Since you mentioned '08 Linebackers.......

Well it looks very good with Torrence, Dailey, Gamble, D'Andrea and Williams if they have grades. All should be top 100 guys(maybe not Williams). Also good with Sturdivant and Jefferson if offered. The battles in-state will probably be with Clifford, Oliver, Hubbard, Arnold, Martin, and possibly Hinds. OOS recruiting is looking much better early than last year. Oglesby, Blankenship, and O'Dowd all offered and high interest in us, so we look good on the front. I'm sure a name or two will pop up in Ohio(Whetterer or Wade?). At QB, I doubt we go OOS unless a stud is dying to come here with Smith + Belton. Runningback is absolutely stacked instate with Williams, Mabin, Herron, Saine, and Edmunds. Good news here is our #1 priority at RB Bradley Stephens from Texas will decide before the summer is over, so we will be able to assess our situation on offers to Ohio RB's. Ideally, we pick up Stephens and Morgan Williams has the grades and gets picked up as well. If not I think Herron or Mabin gets the offer. I think we won't need to go OOS with all the talent in Ohio at D-Line unless some big name pops up. I'm sure we will go after Barksdale hard though. At LB we might go OOS after we pick up Dailey and go after Hinds from what it looks like now. 08' will be loaded in-state though with the 2 St. X LB's and the LB from Trace. OOS all we have so far that I know of is Campbell from Md. who is a pre-rivals top 100 and the Minnesota LB. At DB we wouldn't have to go OOS but since Johnson and Allen have some interest, we will pursue. We have Evege(offer), Torrence(will get one), Arnold(may be a tough get), Rucker, Oliver, and Clifford(sounding better than before). At WR we likely go OOS besides Jefferson as a possibility. Look Deonte Thompson here. Overall, things are looking good for 07'.:osu:

There is also another Torrence at Canton South playing linebacker and has amazing messurables as a high school sophomore. He was part of the Canton Repository all Stark County team (Div 2&3). When I saw his measurables I was shocked. I'll see if I can find a link......:osu:

Scotty Lewis goes to my school, Sylvania Northview. I cant really tell you too much about him, I used to be good friends with him back in elementary when we were on the same teeball team. I talked to him the other day in physics class (we had this really annoying water wheel thing and he was kind of mad about it). I can tell you for a fact this kid loves Ohio State, and is pretty talented, one of the most talented kids to come out of Sylvania in awhile (...not that that ever happens). I cant really speak for him too much, but I know he loves Ohio State, and I dont know where Ohio State stands with him, but i think there is a good chance if offered he goes to Ohio State. Him and Casey Merideth (our Sophomore runningback, not really physically what ohio state is looking for, he is really short, and more of a bruiser, doesnt have blazing speed but he can wear a team out), they are some of the top players in the area, which doesnt say a lot for northwest ohio, because well, we are nowhere near the talent of other parts of the state. I can say this, the kid is a beast. I heard rumors of interest from Ohio State over the summer, but this is the first time I've actually seen something. I dont really talk to him much and really dont feel like pressuring him, he is a good guy and I want him to have fun with whatever it is. I only see him when we have massive physics projects so I can tell you what I can from that, but I dont really have massive insight on him.

Another guy I forgot was cameron wade. He was a frequent visitor at the games this year as I think he was at 3 of them. He is a big buckeye fan and if he gets the offer he will accept. I see him as either a center/guard or maybe DT.

Came to my coaches wrestling camp and is also a very good wrestler. Should win state at Heavyweight this year at D3. I should see him in February and I will try and find out what I can.

Deonte Thompson won't be the #1 player in Florida next year, but he is a very good one. I personally like Chris Rainey and John Brown..both from Lakeland. Rainey is an EXPLOSIVE RB. He is only about 5-10 175, but his speed, explosion and ability to cut on a dime make him very Reggie Bush-like. Brown is just a man at DT. He may be the top player in the state. He is amazing and will be heavily recruited. Of course you also got Noel Devine, but I don't know about him. He appears to have more talent than anyone but he fades away in certain games. Armando Allen is a good looking RB as well and Garcia is a great QB out of Tampa.

On Thompson, I do think he stays in-state. I would say UF, but we are getting so much talent at WR this year that it might scare him away. Who knows though.

I saw Brown on TV and was very impressed with him. Looks like a pro already. Also what about Billy Lowe at QB for Lakeland? I was pretty impressed with him as well. Also, do you think the one guy that says he has Belle Glades ties is lying? He said that OSU is in the lead for him early on.

The only that really sucks is that the 2 stud DE's-Ben Martin and Solomon Thomas of Lakota West are both very pro-ND, and Thomas is apparently not enraptured w/ OSU at all, but, his coach is pro-OSU. I think Martin is ND's to lose, unfortunately.
