Darkhorse of the BIG10 for 2013

I thought I would throw this one out on the table as something different for a change. Anybody have an idea of what team could be a surprise, or lets say a team that could be a "DarkHorse" for 2013. Wisconsin has a new coach but they will just re-load as well as a lot of teams will , so there would be no surprise there. Indiana could come on strong in my opinion. You never know what Penn State will come up with. Northwestern for some reason could come on as a real contender and they are always a threat. My pick for a "darkhorse" would be Purdue. Darrell Hazell knows our conference pretty well and he has established himself as a real good coach. And Rob Henry has been named as Purdue's starting quarterback. Anyone else have some thoughts on this?

It's Indiana. It's time for the Hoosiers to show they can play somewhat respectable football. I think they beat one of the TSUN schools. I'd love to see them shock Missouri as well. If they can beat at least one of the three they have a chance of being bowl eligible before coming to Columbus.

I think there are several teams that could be considered a dark horse this year. I don't see a lot of Top10 type teams, but I think the middle and lower part of the conference is very strong this year.

NW/MSU - I'd call them darkhorses, but enough people are talking about them as challengers in the Legends side.
Purdue - I definitely think Hazell will have them playing strong.
Indiana - Wilson seems to have them going in the right direction.
Iowa - Ferentz is overdue to have a team that surprises people. I still respect him as a coach.
Minny - I think Kill is a good coach but not sure about the overall talent level.

I even hold out some hope for Illinois being better than expected.

Well, sure, all those ThaKid recruits have to sneak up on us sometime, right?

So, that's 7 darkhorses?

I will go with Indiana and their passing attack. I do not think you can call Northwestern a dark horse any longer because they are getting too much preseason publicity. Even Indiana is a little bit of a stretch.

:slappy: Behold, the dark horse...and another...and another...

I would have to say Purdue will struggle...I really think Hazell will have a much more difficult time there than some people seem to think. This year I would have to go with Minnesota. The should be 4-0 nonconference, and then they get Iowa and Penn State at home, which are more than winnable. If they can win at Indiana and/or steal one against a good team, then 7-5 is not out of the question...8-4 if everything goes perfectly.

In all seriousness though, I'll go with:

The new 'flash' will propell the Hoosiers to greatness!
