Darnay Holmes (CB New York Giants)

I remember seeing an interview where Darnay started crying when, unprompted, he brought up his dad being shot when he was a little kid. He seems like a guy with a big heart who is as close to his family as any recruit I've seen. When you combine that with the fact that his dad's football training business would benefit from Darnay staying in LA, it's hard to imagine he's going to say "Sorry fam, but I'm going to do my own thing." He doesn't seem like that type of kid. Kudos to his support system if they open their minds to his desire to be a Buckeye, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Obviously I'd love him to come here, but Darnay needs to be accountable to one man: Darnay. No matter what reason he chooses to pick a school, whether it be to make a family member happy or to make himself happy, as long as he can look himself in the mirror afterwards, he'll be fine. It took me a lot longer than 18 years to understand that.

And now Wiltfong has changed his prediction to UCLA

In the words of Lamar Jackson, "man, this crazy."
And Bubba's to ASU. Crazy indeed. I find this entertaining just because it's at the expense of USC reloading. Would love them to join the good guys, but either one is just sugar on top of the cherry of our loaded DB sundae.

Good for Holmes' girlfriend on getting a scholarship to USC but he needs to take a whole lot more in to consideration than that. Almost all of these guys find new girlfriends in college and almost all of them are happy to do so. Not many of them, I would assume, stay with whatever girlfriend they had in high school all the way through college.
I guess you did not have a girlfriend coming out of high school. Guys do not think about their future girlfriend when they are a senior in high school.

They don't think about all the women they'll meet at a new and much bigger school? Especially given the star spotlight that is going to be cast upon them? The whole "how is this going to work once we go to college?" question has been played out so many times now in movies, on tv, in their own lives through friends and family, that they are more than aware of how that scenario can unfold.

Sure their relationship can last. It's halpened a million times. It's also happened a million times where it doesn't. I don't have the scientific data, though.

Dudes especially in high school use the wrong brain almost all the time when it comes to women/girls.

While I truly think that Darnay's torn, in these instances the pick is usually the hometown school if it is a tossup. UCLA is my guess but I hope I am wrong, he could be a star here.
