CB Damon Arnette (2nd Team All B1G)

Just wanted to send this kid a special shout-out for his performance this year so far. He's been really solid. Is he Jeff Okudah....no. But has he been a rock solid #2 CB? Hell yes. Certianly you've gotta give Jeff Hafley a lot of credit for transforming this secondary, as well as Mattison, but lets also give the players credit. Arnette has been feisty as hell, as usual, but seemingly in much better position. I've been really impressed, and I'm extremely happy for him. Not only has he made us better on the back-end, he's making himself a nice chunk of money. Stay healthy and keep playing well Damon.....

Hafley mentioned Okudab and Arnette on how willing they are to be physical. Mentioned Damon filling the B gap and how rare it is to see corners who will do that.

Yet we have two of them.

So happy for Damon and the future he's secured for himself.

Mentioned that to my wife during the game

Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a corner fill the b gap like that

You rarely even see them in the c gap

Damon Arnette will be fine.

The redshirt senior cornerback left the game last in the second quarter and did not play the remainder of the game, returning the the sideline in street clothes.

After the game, Ryan Day indicated that he didn't believe any injury was serious, but he would be evaluated later.

Before leaving the game, Arnette had three total tackles and a forced fumble.

In his place, sophomore cornerback Cameron Brown played the majority of the second half. He finished the game with two total tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
