BROWN, JOHNSON SPLIT FIRST-TEAM REPS AT CORNERBACK
Two days after Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles expressed concerns about the Buckeyes’ cornerback depth, we got a glimpse at why on Thursday.

Ohio State had only four scholarship cornerbacks on the field during team drills Thursday as sophomore Jordan Hancock did not practice at all due to his injury while freshman Ryan Turner was a limited participant. Redshirt freshman safety Jantzen Dunn, who has been cross-training at cornerback during camp, also did not participate in any full-speed drills on Thursday.

As for Hancock, Turner and Dunn, Day said he does not expect any of the cornerbacks’ injuries to be long-term injuries, though he acknowledged that cornerback depth is one of his biggest concerns right now.

so now the entire '21 Safety recruiting class is gone.

what a mess

Another second-year safety has entered the transfer portal.

Jantzen Dunn became the third Ohio State player to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season, joining fellow second-year safety Jaylen Johnson and fifth-year senior linebacker Teradja Mitchell, when he put his name in on Tuesday.....

Ohio State has now lost all three of its safeties from its 2021 recruiting class as Andre Turrentine entered the transfer portal last year after just one season with the Buckeyes, while Dunn and Johnson are also both now headed elsewhere.

Dunn has three remaining years of collegiate eligibility.

Seems a bit harsh to Dunn. Kid is a baller…bad injury luck and then a new DC.

whoever lands him is getting a great player.

Not to say you are implying anything different. Good luck Jantzen.
My comment was in general, not specific to Janzten.

But every player transfers for a reason, and "bad fit" is often that reason. If he succeeds elsewhere and Ohio State gets a "better fit", then it's a win-win.
