No doubt about that to me - doesn't have the hips to stay at CB but his burst, instincts, and size make him a dream at safety. Wouldn't be surprised to see him settle in at SS and contribute on ST's as a true fresh.

He's more straight line speed then he is "in a phone booth" fast... him playing center field would be terrifying for opposing teams.

Future Ohio State stars shine in first U.S. Army Bowl practice

Some Buckeye commits dominated in the first US Army All-American Bowl practice.

Ohio State safety commit Tyreke Johnson (Jacksonville, FL/Trinity Christian Academy) might have had the best practice among all participants Monday. The four-star lined up as both a safety and a cornerback and excelled at both.

I think Tyreke enjoys laying the wood, looking forward to seeing him roam the defensive back field.

Also named best player in practice on East squad for Monday by Steve Wiltfong.

I really like him at safety with his ability to cover tight ends and bring the wood, covers a ton of space playing center field as well. Love the versatility to play corner though, kid looks fantastic out there.

He will probably put on 10 pounds this year alone... He looks to be a monster out there. Hell he almost KO'd our 6'6 250 pound TE
