DB Tyreke Johnson (transfer to Nebraska)

I can see this guy essentially playing safety if they bring the two safety look back. But he’d basically function as a 3rd corner. As long as he’s relatively fast he should be next in line since Coombs made a point to say how good of a start to spring he had and complimented his intelligence. #freeAmirRiep

I wouldn't say Banks is struggling personally... he gave up a TD but then again Wade gave up 2 to the same kid.
Yeah, Dotson just had an amazing game, but no other WR did for the Pedsters. In essence Banks shut down the other WR, Dotson had 2 out of this world catches that couldn't be guarded with Neon Deion

It just seems like Coombs hasn't put any real pressure on any of the cbs yet... he just has them playing off and just not letting anything get behind them for the most part not much manning up and straight destroying the other teams receivers maybe he's trying to save their legs for better comp?....idk really, one thing for certain though, Coombs is a man who knows waht he is doing and im sure he has his reasons for what we see for right now...

Seems to me he's got the boundary corner playing tight and the field playing off 10 yards which makes sense. All I know is the DBs arent breaking up a ton of passes right now and are having some issues across the middle of the field. I would be interested to know the breakdown of man to zone because it feels like we are back to playing way too much man.

Coombs says they've been focusing guys on the fact that they may get thrown into a new role on short notice, especially this year: "The whole next man up thing is no joke."

Coombs says Johnson plays very hard in practice and is always prepared and ready to go.

Cam Brown is out for the season, will (5 star recruit) Tyreke Johnson be the "next man up"?

This move reminds me of Jameson Williams' transfer. Upperclassmen who has getting buried on the depth chart by all of the younger talent that is entering the room(or who is already there). Johnson has been a nice story of a former 5star, but he has done nothing on the field, and guys like Cavazos and Watt are pushing hard for time. And Williamson returning with his good amount of game reps from 2020 also returns.

Hope it doesn't impact the relationships at his HS. I'm not sure there's any hard feelings here, but I doubt Tyreke will be giving OSU great endorsements either. Unfortunate it never seemed to work out.

Shaun Wade is probably giving glowing endorsements about OSU!

I guess Tyreke is headed to Alabama 8D
