2020 DC DE/OLB Mekhail Sherman (Georgia Verbal)

I think if he waits until signing day, Ohio State would sway him back. I think Malik Harrison is going to have a huge year and will be a first round pick. Sherman is a similar player to Harrison and I believe Al Washington could use that as a selling point.

Ohio State’s problem here, imo, is two years of Bill Davis really hurt our LB play and I think other schools are using that to their advantage, and rightfully so. However, one of Al’s guys was a top 10 pick. So we’ll see

I would think we keep pursuing Sherman until he signs no matter what (and perhaps Jarrett as well). The pick will be UGA but I think we will try to sway him back. And you are right, Davis killed us on our LB recruiting but I am hoping Washington can turn that around quickly.

I think other teams are using the fact that no one knows what our LBs will look like under Washington against us. And that goes for the entire back 7 recruiting

Definitely a bummer but not exactly a shock at this stage. And I am anticipating that a lot of names we were hoping to see in the class are going to still be on the table going forward, so I am not really going to worry too much right now until we can see the product on the field this year.
