I was looking through my Band of Brothers DVD, and I saw a Donald B. Hoobler who was from a "small town in Ohio". Does anybody here know if Chad is related? I just thought I'd ask, it caught my eye.

Donald B. Hoobler is a character in the show played by Peter McCabe. His most famous quotes from IMDB.com:

"High ground. There's high ground up ahead."

"To keep you on your toes. "

"Down he goes, right out of his saddle like a sack of potatoes. Outstanding accuracy on my part if I do say so myself. "

"Which I do. Hell, Shifty, I think maybe I could've even given you a run for your money. "

Hope that helps.

I was reading an article by Jim Karsatos yesterday and he seems to be real high on Hoobler and said that he was a player to watch this coming year.

I did think Chad was one of the players that stood out during the Spring Game. He especially excelled against the pass.

How is Kerr's pass defense skills? Perhaps Hoobler will be rotating in and out with Kerr. Any thoughts?

ummm ... Don't forget the Texas game. Everyone talks about Hamby's drop, but the personal foul on Hoobler at the end of the first half that moved the ball to mid field and set up a quick field goal was every bit as big. Without that late field goal, Texas doesn't win either.

Hoobler will get his chance when he becomes more disciplined. The personal fouls etc. are out of control.

It is not just the pf's. He plays with a wreckless, and from what I have heard is that he plays out of position a lot because of his emotion. I have no prove to say that is true or not. I do like the kids fire, it sounds like if he can get things under control he will get some playing time.

IIRC, Chad broke up 4-5 passes during the Spring Game and almost came up with a pick on one of them. Perhaps this is an indication that he is playing in position and more under control. I hope so because I think he has a lot that he can bring to the table. For example, I think he is a bigger threat to blitz than Kerr, and in a 3-4 position he has the size and speed to move to a rush end position.

It's great seeing all the competition at the LB position and I would'nt be surprised to see Hoobler, Kerr or MDA (if healthy) start at MLB, the competition is that close.
