It would take a little research because it doesn't come off the top of my head. But having that I worked in Coach Conley's office for a semester, I do know that this is a factor. And it's not that simple of bumping for snow. It's the visit enviroment. You don't have to get so supercilious about it.

Visit environment isn't the end all but it helps. All the visits I took but one were on picture perfect days and made the visits really enjoyable. The one visit that had crappy weather I ruled that school out. It wasn't simply the weather but it's weird how it worked out. It does seem to put a bit of a damper on the day. That being said, if Wells enjoys the visit, I doubt it will have much of an impact on his decision.

A few kids may suddenly get turned off by the prospect of cold/bad weather, but by-and-large prospects from warmer regions already know what they're getting into if they're seriously considering Ohio State.

I would like to know just how serious you were about the school you dumped on account of the weather. Not slamming you personally, but prospects who blow off a school just because of how the weather was on that particular day probably aren't evaluating the school fully.

There were other factors much more important than what the weather was that day (like finding a degree so I could cover OSU football one day) and every recruit will evaluate much further. Mostly I agree with you though...you'll be hard pressed to find a recruit that because of how the weather is one day, that they won't select a school. It's probably the smallest of factors but even though a kid from the south knows it's cold up north, being in during 20 degree weather in a snow storm is a harsh reality (I myself was shocked how cold it was when I went outside today). In the grand scheme of things though, I wish it was better weather for Wells' visit but I doubt it plays much of a factor if we blow Wells and momma away.

Wells knows its going to be cold tomorrow when he makes it up there. He plans on wearing his cold gear for sure. I don't think it bothers him that much. This visit is going to tell the story of this recruitment. He very interested in Ohio State and is vulnerable right now due to the Florida State concerns. If the visit goes well and mother is okay with it then Ohio State will be his choice. Such a well spoken kid!

Thats a helluva statement, El. I hope you're right. This should be a fun weekend for the recruits, given how many will be floating around, no matter what the weather is.

How does the decision for Jumbo Fisher to follow Bowden as the next coach at FSU impact the situation? I would imagine Fisher was involved with Keith's recruitment and knowing he is going to be there has to help FSU's chances of holding on to many of their defensive recruits, I would imagine.

Not sure about the Fisher deal... And don't get me wrong I am not calling him to Ohio State at all nor am I saying this is just a free trip he is wanting to take just to see the world. This trip will tell the tale of Keith Wells! It has been on his mind for a while. Lets just wait and see.... He has been asking questions all week about ohio state and I have been trying my best to give him the info. The person I told him he needed to meet was Big Vernon:biggrin:
