DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

LJB - Your absolutely right about getting him on campus before he commits, I hope I'm wrong but I'm not sure if it will happen. I was really hoping that he would have taken an unofficial visit this summer, I would feel better about OSU's chances. Your slow playing comment is very interesting, the only school that gives me this impression is UF.

Well, FSU already has 14 verbals, and they are still in on a lot of blue chip talent like Julio Jones, Deion Walker, Tyler Love, T.J. Bryant, and Marcus Forston, just to name a few.

Keith has narrowed his choices down to Auburn, Florida, and Florida State.

In the second update he leaves the door SLIGHTLY ajar by stating those that were mentioned in the past still have a shot, but he'll focus on the 3 mentioned above.

This is all but over for the Buckeye Nation.

Down to three for Gainesville?s Wells
Gainesville defensive end Keith Wells said Saturday he will commit to Auburn, Florida or Florida State.
He had previously been considering offers from Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Auburn.
Wells on his final three:
Auburn - ?I like the way they use Quentin Groves at outside linebacker and defensive end. I can actually see myself playing that position. I like Auburn?s campus. It?s a real nice football town and not too far away from home.?
Florida - ?I had a great experience when I went down to Florida. I met a lot of the coaches. I like their football program, and the campus really felt nice.?
Florida State - ?Overall, it was probably the best place I visited. Their weight room, facility, the coaching, they just impressed me with everything down there.?
Football practice begins on Wednesday for Wells and his Gainesville teammates. He said a commitment isn?t far behind.
?I?ll wait a few weeks and make my decision when it feels right,? he said. ?I?ve got to keep evaluating, evaluating, evaluating and pray.?

Gainesville defensive end Keith Wells said he has no second thoughts as he prepares to announce at 1 p.m. Friday where he will play college football next season.
?I feel real good about the decision,? said Wells, who will choose between Auburn, Florida and Florida State at a news conference at Gainesville High School. (Come back to ajc.com then to find out where Wells is headed.)
?I evaluated all the schools,? Wells said, ?and now I?m just basically ready to announce and get it over with.?
One of his first tasks following the announcement is to officially notify the winning school.
?I?ll give them a call and speak to the head coach,? Wells said. ?After that, I?ll just move on and worry about my team stuff here at Gainesville.?
The 6-foot-5, 207-pound Wells said he never considered holding the press conference at an alternate site.
?I?ve always want to represent my school in a positive way,? he said. ?When it comes to athletics, Gainesville has had a lot of great prospects come through.
?It?s an honor to continue the tradition of great athletes and be part of that legacy. I?m honored to announce this at my school. I wouldn?t do it anywhere else.?
