DE/LB Thaddeus Gibson (official thread)

No offense, but the thread on the free board basically says that it is smokingguns 'gut feeling', and he has not informaiton to verify. Also, he was WAY wrong about Bowman, as he called him to tOSU a couple of times over the past few days.

Euclid All-Ohio linebacker Thaddeus Gibson made it official Monday morning when he gave an oral commitment to Ohio State coach Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes.

Gibson, one of the most coveted high football football players in the Midwest, chose Ohio State after also considering Michigan and Tennessee. He will sign a national letter of intent on Feb. 1.

"It's a great environment and great football,'' said Gibson, who emphasized that Tressel's ability to attract other Northeast Ohio standouts played a major role in his decision.

Panthers coach Mike Rezzolla echoed Gibson sentiments and added that his three-year mainstay had to make a tough decision, that Michigan and Tennessee also did an impressive job in the recruiting process.

A two-time Plain Dealer "Best of the Best'' All-Star selection, the 6-3, 220-pound Gibson made 46 solo tackles last season, including 10 sacks and eight other stops behind the line of scrimmage He also totaled 24 quarterback hurries as the Panthers garnered a share of the Lake Erie League Lake Division championship and advanced to the Division I regional playoffs.
