DE Zach Harrison (All B1G, Atlanta Falcons)

Zach (rhymes with sack) was one of several linemen that would have had several more sacks last year, but Chase Young got there first. The 2019 pass rush was one of the best in Ohio State history; there were numerous meetings in the backfield where 3 or more guys would have had the sack, but only the one who got there first got the stat (unless the tackle wasn't clean, then the other guys could get 1/2 a sack).

With Chase in Washington and Zach having had another year of training with Coach Mick, Zach will be winning his share of races to the quarterback this season. If Harrison and Cooper both stay healthy, the drop off at pass rush might not be as steep as the rest of the cfb world hopes.
You're also forgetting about JJB and Tyreke Smith who also will make a great rotation with the 2 you mentioned.

Not forgetting them; even considered not mentioning Cooper because this is Zach's thread.

Pass rush has a legit chance to be very good because of all of the mentioned players, most especially Zach. All of the mentioned players have a ceiling that they have not approached yet, but when you have as many players with that high a ceiling as the Buckeyes have, the chance that B1G QBs are not going to get much of a break from the Buckeye rushmen is pretty high.

Here me out because I am really smart and study these things. I am what you would call an expert. I think they are going to blitz the LB's a lot more this year (specifically Browning) and achieve the same total effect in a different way.

You heard it here first.

The bolded wasn't even true when the person you're mocking said it... Spot on impression, though choosing the correct form of "effect" makes it less authentic. As usual, I remember what you're mocking only vaguely, but don't for the life of me remember who it was or what else they ever posted.

I’m waiting for the DCs to call a play where Harrison drops back into coverage ala Steve Miller in the Sugar Bowl and picks it off. I’m also looking forward to seeing Harrison blow by everyone with his 4.3 speed.
That would be a zone blitz, invented by Buckeye NFL Hall-of-Famer Dick LeBeau.

I can remember when Dick and I used to go party on weekends.

That is not the first time that play was called and worked for the Bucks. You should have remembered.

Now that's a great ass, but everyone else says you are not an expert???

SOPHOMORE ZACH HARRISON WILL AVERAGE MORE SACKS PER GAME THAN CHASE YOUNG DID IN HIS SECOND SEASON

As a sophomore in 2018, Young racked up 10.5 sacks in 14 games, or 0.75 per contest while averaging about 56 snaps.

Young was pretty streaky that season, picking up multiple sacks against Rutgers (2.0), Penn State (2.0), Maryland (2.0) and Northwestern (3.0) while snagging one against Washington and a half-sack versus Purdue.

Basically, nine of Young's 10.5 season total came in four of 14 games and he failed to record a sack in eight other outings.

Harrison enters his sophomore season after an almost-identical freshman campaign to Young's. Last year, Harrison logged 5.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Chase's freshman year produced 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

It will be up to Harrison to prove he can be the number one pass rushing option in Larry Johnson's arsenal and my bet is he'll do exactly that. To average 0.75 sacks per game and equal Young's sophomore production, Harrison will need 8.25 sacks across an 11 game season or 7.5 across a 10-game slate.

I'm not even contemplating a season any less than 10 games.
