Denver Bronco Darrent Williams Dies in Shooting


DENVER -- Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was killed in a drive-by shooting early Monday morning in downtown Denver 7News reported exclusively on its 5 a.m. newscast.

Contacted by 7News, Denver Broncos spokesman Jim Saccomano confirmed the fatal shooting and said that police called the Broncos organization at 3 a.m. and said that Williams had died. Saccomano said there was "incredible shock and sadness at a senseless tragedy." He said that coach Mike Shanahan had been informed......

i just saw this as breaking news on gameday and couldnt believe it. its always shocking to see a player get killed but even more so after you just watched him play a football game less than 24 hours before. not to mention he is at least the second player (vernon grant) to get killed on the oklahoma state squad. condolences to his family on a tragic new years.

A sad story, condolences to the family.

However, this stuff happens every day of the year,actually, multiple times every day of the year. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume this to be a "black-on-black" murder. It's an ongoing epidemic in our society, and one that mostly gets swept under the rug until it happens to a Professional Athlete, then the rest of the world can stand up and speak out that "something needs to be done" even though they really don't give a shit.

they are now reporting that he died in Javon Walkers arms after he was shot and Walker showed up at Denvers HQ the next day with blood all over his clothes since he came right from the hospital.
