Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Didn't waste my time watching it today, the outcome was obvious. Must be some talent on the Griffins that they can look at bringing up based on their last 2 years.

I'll be honest - after that typically lazy pass from Franzen that was cut-off and then put into the net by Boston, I shaved the playoff beard right then and there.

I really hope he's bought out. He hasn't scored a goal since February.

I'm not even sure what to take from the preseason. I think this team's roster could be in transition mid-season if the injury bug hits again. Lots of older players with long injury histories make up the core of this team.

Sweet goal in OT by Nyquist against the Senators tonight.

Redwings haven't look so bad this year. Impressed with their Power Play and Penalty Kill in the games I have watched.

The biggest thing is if they can continue to get the young guys scoring. Z isn't nearly the player he was and Franzen is still content to float on the boards.

Yes sir. Tatar and Nyquist have to continue to score goals for us. Z and Datsyuk aren't getting younger but Datsyuk is still doing his thing. I just wish we had a superstar goal scorer. We have to rely on our defense/Jimmy if we are going to go far in the playoffs this year.

Big test awaits in Nashville, but 7 points out of a tough five-game Western Conference road swing so far is pretty good. They continue to struggle with physical teams, but they definitely don't back down. Jimmy though, I don't think he'll ever consistently be able to get it together, but hopefully I'm wrong.

4-3 win at Nashville. 9 points out of 12 on the Western swing. Not too shabby.
