Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

57, 42,25 in his full time nhl seasons.

kotalik is 43, 43, 38, 62, 26, 35

number relative to hudler. then again you are offended by sammuelsens deal which i think is about in line... easily hudler could have signed a 2m multi year deal, likely 3, 3 for 9 isnt unreasonable...

Oh I know....I think Hudler could be worth that kind of cash for the right team, but Detroit isn't that team.

Same with Sammy although Vancouver well overpaid for him.

you have to "overpay" for fas. its a basic fact, they go to the highest bidder (typically). those numbers are in line with the market for those type of players. granted do the wings want/need to pay that. nope. theyve got a few young guys and a few vets out there are willing to take the cut to have a chance with the wings.

i am really don't think you will see holland sign anyone during FA. now that hudler is gone helm, abby, and ericsson will step into full time roles. depending how the seasons starts out i feel you will see holland go for a rental player at trade deadline. not a big name but to add some depth.

He won't be coming back to Detroit that's for sure.

And here is Allan Muir (the official scorer of the Dallas Stars BTW) openly wishing for the Wings to let Lidstrom go after this year:
NBA salary cap memo points to economic trouble ahead for NHL - Allan Muir - SI.com

i dont think that was his point. well i mean who doesnt want lidstrom gone from the wings? but his point was the cap issue that could arise around lidstrom. no idea if hell hang em up. but id doubt hell require the 7m+ salary he gets now.

Hudler is a defensive liability and wasn't ever going to get the ice time he wanted appparently and Zetterberg and Datsyuk are going to be the leaders of the team from this point forward.
no doubt. but i still think he could have pulled his 2m a year with term in the nhl...
