Detroit Tigers 2006 season thread...

Currently the Tigers would have to give up Verlander and Zumaya for Soriano. Do you really think he is worth that much? Pitching is the most important thing. I do not see the Tigers trading two rising stars for Soriano.
First off the Verlander and Zumaya thing is completely wrong. I have no clue as to where you heard that but is waaaaaaay off-base. Dombroski wouldn't even have that discussion. The rumor is Humberto Sanchez/Cameron Mabin for Soriano. I still think that is alot, but whatever. Great win today, 5.5 up.

7.5 up!

It will be interesting to see what they do when Maroth is healthy. They can make him the #5 starter and see how he does. Or, if they look safe for the playoffs, they can use Maroth to give Verlander some rest so that he's pitching once every 6 or 7 days. There is some talk about resting Bonderman, but I think that's just stupid. He pitched 190 innings last year and he's been in the league about 3-4 years now. And some point you have to stop babying him.

I would be estatic if we took 2 of three. Gardenhire obviously knew this was a huge series since he worked his rotation so Liriano, Radke, and Santana would go this weekend. If Miner can beat Liriano tonight it would be huge for momentum. Also Tibor never again speak of the '03 season, please. The worst team I have ever seen in my life. Also was working by Detroit that year and it was the one and only year I had season tickets, makes me sick thinking about.

But, but, but....I mean Bobby Higginson's .235 with 14 HRs and 52 RBIs was way, WAY worth that 11.85 million... :slappy:
