SEPTEMBER 18​
Man last week was a total misfire….I completely missed on Michigan and Penn State and had two other games go just as predicted….only to eventually lose….horrible. First.. Florida State…I picked them by six and they were up by seven late in the game before they suddenly swallowed their nuts and threw the game away. Second…I picked USC to straight up beat Georgia...if both Pinkins and Summers stay healthy….guess what…Summers goes out on the first series of the game…I should be given a pass on that game and I’m taking it….
Now to the first GREAT weekend of football this year….Great games abound…..

Game of the Week: LSU @ AUBURN
Spread: Auburn –1 1/2
The Game: Man…what a great game this is going to be. Defending National Champs against a senior-laden team that has looked incredible in its first two games. Jordan-Bunny Stadium is going to be going absolutely nuts for this game (providing power is restored after Ivan) and will be a factor in this game...LSU is going to lose a road game this year….and this is the one….
My Prediction: Auburn wins a close game..by one point.
Why: History…the only two times Nick Saban has taken the Tigers on the road to face the Tigers (can anyone say southern inbreeding here) he has lost 34-17 and 31-7. This time the Tigers will stay close until the end…but the Tigers will win by one…leaving the Tigers wondering how the Tigers did it….
On a side note: do they have Tigers in Louisiana and Alabama??
Would I bet on this game: no way

Game 2: MARYLAND @ WEST VIRGINIA
Spread: WVU –6 1/2
The Game: This is probably the biggest hurdle the Neers will face between now and their future BCS Bowl date. The game is played in Morgantown.. this gives the blue and gold a boost. On the other hand…the Terps have handed it to West Virginia the past three years (32-20, 48-17,and 34-7). Much of this game depends on the health of the starting running backs…KayJay Harris for WVU and Sam Maldonado for Maryland…both are hampered coming in…but both have played great this year….
My Prediction: WVU by 2
Why: West Virginians have been waiting for a season like this for 15 years…the crowd will be crazy…and everyone knows that this is one of the three big games for WVU this year…I think that is enough to allow the Mountaineers to squeek one out here….a win here puts West Virginia on a collision course for the National Title Game..
Would I bet on this game: No

Game 3: FLORIDA @ TENNESSEE
Spread: Tenn -3
The Game: Throw this thing up in the air….I have to be honest here….I have no clue whatsoever about this game…this series makes robin williams look like dick cheney…both teams are young…the game has real meaning and both coaches suck….you figure this one out….
My Prediction: Tennessee by 10
Why: Hell I don’t know…did you read above….? The only constant I can find regarding this series is that the home team has lost four straight…so I am going against everything and picking the home team….Watch…this guess will be the one game I nail dead center….
Would I bet on this game: No.

Game 4: OHIO STATE @ NORTH CAROLINA STATE
Spread: OSU – 2 1/2
The Game: Listen to the Pack faithful and they are predicting a double-digit win…weather will be an enormous factor in this game…the messier the conditions..the better the advantage to the home team…both teams have young qb’s…tons of talent on both sides and good coaching…some say that tressel teams have not done well on the road…but the Buckeyes are 6-2 on the road the past two years….that’s not shabby…
My Prediction: OSU by 6
Why: The first ten minutes of this game will tell everything….If the Pack gets out to a great start…this game will be just like last year…the road team trying to catch up all game long…If the Buckeyes get out and get the running game going…they could win by ten…
