Does anyone still use a typewriter?

What's a "check"?

My crazy uncle still uses a typewriter. Every year I get "The Christmas Letter" about how wonderful his kids (and grandkids) are and all the sights they've seen, complete with b&w pictures of his growing family.

In my head I imagine him at the FedEx store with an x-acto knife and glue stick putting his annual x-mas manifestos together like the Unibomber. Love my eccentric uncle, but he is fucking out there.

Hammered out all my college papers (plus a failed novel or two) on one like this:

Being a Remington it also doubled as home security. Sucker weighed about 25#. Suddenly overcome with melancholy. I've been through probably 30 odd pc's and never gave a second thought about dumpstering one when the time came. That Remington though....is in some family member's basement somewhere. Sigh.....(yeah, tried an electric but it just had no soul).

I had a Selectric II until I figured out how to save documents in AppleWorks on the Apple IIe circa 1985/6.
