Standout seniors Adolphus Washington and Dewayne Stanford also played their final football games at Taft. Washington made two catches for 18 yards, rushed for five on one carry and made a first-quarter sack. Stanford was held to one catch for 34 yards.

“They were definitely really good,” Stanford said of Shawnee. “You have to give credit where credit is due. They exposed us. That’s what you’re supposed to do and they did it well.”

I've never seen Washington play until this past Friday night and Washington was not effective at all against Springfield Shawnee.

25.5 sacks in one year...Meh, let's cut ties with this kid! Plus he is still raw. If he knew some good pass-rushing moves he would possibly have had 40 sacks!

In all seriousness, his potential is up there with Clowney's. If Clowney is a 10 on potential, Washington is a 9.5...He will have a Mario Williams type body.

When you have 23.5 sacks in a season, teams gameplan around you. I'll guarantee they double teamed adolphus and maybe even triple teamed with help from a running back.

From where I was sitting, Shawnee had just about every play go away from Washington. That's what happens when your whole Defense is one player. Good coaches can take a good opposing defensive end out of a game when the the rest of the D-line and linebackers aren't so great.

this^

From watching Taft play in the Herbstreet Classic, I would say beyond Washington and Stanford they have little more talent than an inter-city Cleveland public school.

They did not overload blocking on him, he just didn't do much all night. I live in Springfield, Shawnee is good but I didn't think their o-line would man-handle a 5 star recruit like they did. They did run many plays away from him and I couldn't figure out why he didn't shift around on the line. I'm a big OSU fan, I saw Braxton play many times at Wayne and you could tell from the first game that he was going to special, I just didn't see it from Washington. Hopefully he commits and he becomes a stud on the Buckeye d-line.

Did they man-handle or run away from him?

Clowney was a 16 on potential. Washington has all the tools to be a good one down the road, though.
