DT Luke Fickell (HC Wisconsin Badgers)

What 30 year old, Columbus native, former player has ever been so fortunate to "try out" for the Head Coaching job at tOSU?

If I were him, I would come out with a presser and make the statment: Jim Tressel is a great coach and a great man. I am not Jim Tressel. Starting today, the 5 players currently suspended for the first 5 games are now suspended for the rest of the season. An investigation has been launched looking into other players named to be involved with Fine Line Ink and if any wrong doing is found, they will be suspended for the season, too.

If I were Luke, I wouldn't pull any punches with these guys. Set the example for current & future players, start to repair our reputation and score points with Buckeye nation.

I couldn't agree more. There is a stink coming from Columbus and I think everyone is getting the idea of what the core of it is. Unfortunately, it brought down a great man and coach. Take out the trash, Luke.

But I'll support Coach Fickell 100%. He has some tough choices to make.

He is not getting a "try out". He is part of a coaching staff that either knew about the stuff going on and did nothing about it or did their best Sgt. Shultz to turned a blind eye and ignored it. I am not saying that he was hooking up players with the "right people", but it hard believe he knew nothing. The trustees will make a clean sweep of everyone involved at the end of the year. They made the first move with Tressel, the rest will follow. He is the head coach now because he will make the smoothest transition to the post bowl hiring frenzy.

This is why, with or without the players, the Bucks will have at least a semi successful season with Fickell there(8-9-10 wins). He has been there forever and will run things as he saw Tress run them. Defense will be intact and the offense might get a bit of an agressive edge.

They ought to do it now.. and start with Gene Smith. Makes no sense to have Luke out there only to dispose of him. Will only further set the program back.

I get what you're sayin'.. I'm just sayin'

There is no way new coach (if they could find a coach) would be able to get his system running in less than 100 days. How many of those days can he actually work with the kids? He would have to get his system running during the season. The season would have to be a one game season, the Michigan game. Why not wait until the end of the season when you have a bigger pool of talent to choose from.
