Dwight Howard (NTTAWWT)

orlando refused to trade him last year before his back went to shit. their fault.

orlando refused to trade him to houston this year for their entire draft plus players, even when houston fully knew he probably wouldn't stay there. their fault.

now, they can really only trade him to NJ, who has absolute shit to give in return. still, i would make new jersey pony up marshon brooks, a sign and trade for brook lopez and throw in kris humphries. i'd then make them take back hedo's shit contract. let them keep the draft picks. the nets roster is a dumpster fire. orlando can basically hold their cap space hostage and cost dwight howard a ton of money.

I like the scenario you've included... But I want the burden that is Hedo to stay with Orlando... They were fucking stupid enough to want him back after trading him to Toronto (IIRC).

the nets don't have as much leverage as people think. now that they stupidly traded for joe johnson and his albatross contract, and agreed in principle to a deal with wallace, and still need to fill out their roster, they are going to be hard pressed to fit wallace in, especially if deron williams shocks everyone and stays in brooklyn.

that, and the hawks now have a ton of cap room and josh smith is howard's childhood friend.

I thought Howard didn't have a no trade clause in his contract?

I don't think he does but no one wants to trade for a guy with one year on his contract unless he agrees to sign an extension.

This whole scenario is a clusterfuck of massive proportions on the part of the Magic and Dwight Howard.

Let's not forget the guy just had back surgery. Big dude with one surgery already at the age of 26... Knees are one thing. Perhaps teams might be shying away from him because of that

It's tough for me to fault the Magic too much. They played their hand correctly last year in the sense they took advantage of an immature man-child.

Dwight was too idiotic and impatient to agree to be traded to one of his non-destination cities. All he had to do last year was not sign the opt-in clause, play out the season in Houston/Dallas/Chicago. Both parties are essentially on record as saying a deal was on the table to ship Dwight out but Dwight wanted to opt-in on the last year of his deal instead of playing out the year in one of his non-destination cities.

If I'm the Magic, I just can't envision Dwight doing another year of this crap. It's almost unbelievable. Such a whiny douche....

since they didn't have a 1st this year, and can't trade them in back to back years, it's no surprise that espn doesn't have this right.

that being said, if the nyets are offering anything close to this, orlando needs to pounce on it asap. the nets will be a trainwreck if they trade away everyone on their roster and roll out with their version of the big 3. Gerald Wallace, Howard, and joe johnson isn't even a poor man's big 3. it's a hobo with AIDS version of the big 3.

looks like for Cap reasons Wallace would have to be included in the deal. If D Williams doesn't resign though i'm with you ... you take that in a heart beat... but Williams, Johnson, Howard could be potent if they all stay healthy.
