One of Tiger Woods' longest business relationships has come to an end.

Electronic Arts announced on Monday that it would be ending its 15-year relationship with the golfer, the namesake for the "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" video game series.

"We've always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors," said Daryl Holt, the company's vice president and general manager, in a statement, calling it a "mutual decision."

EA's "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" franchise has sold $771 million worth of games over the course of its lifetime, according to market tracking company NPD Group.

Not only will Tiger not be on the cover, he won't be in the game, nor will his name...wow

Edit: well since they won't have his name, and Tiger has referred to himself as a Blasian in the past, I wonder if they would just put the name "The Blasian" for results in tournaments from the AI?

This is big news. However, I'm honestly not surprised. I've been playing TWoods games since elementary school. It was time to move on. It's become more apparent over the last few years that the theme is becoming dated. Two years ago, I felt the playing TWoods as a kid mode was rather egotistical and lacked imagination. Over the last few years, he's been sharing the cover and this year's Legends of the Majors mode is downright awesome. With the overhaul to the game mechanics making it the most realistic golf simulation ever, I'm excited to see where they'll head with this franchise.
