Hey, we all need to play to our strengths.

Truth: Jalen can only wish he threw like Emory. Jalen's arm is his weakness. Calling Emory a "clone" of Jalen should refer to nothing more than his hair

I've never seen a HS player spin the ball live like Emory. He's on a completely different level (albeit when he's healthy). He throws accurate lasers and makes it looks effortless. At Friday Night Lights in Columbus a couple years ago, Emory was the best player on the field as a junior and made Tate Martell look silly with his throws. He's a game changer, the same way Deshaun Watson was at Clemson, the way Tim Tebow was at Florida, the way Justin Fields looks to be on his way to Georgia. No matter where he goes, Ohio State... Alabama... Florida... if he can get the mental part down, you're going to have a hard time keeping him off the field, depth charts be cursed. Tate knows he has to get his game up if and when Emory signs on the dotted line for Ohio State

Baldwin's going to be a good one, don't get me wrong, and I'm really glad we've got him. Emory's something special though. I really hope he sticks with us and helps us lead this team to rings

Agreed 100%, Emory might be the best QB in this class honestly. I hope he ends up in Columbus and really want him in this class... but I'm not getting all emotionally invested in the Twitter drama. I hope you end up here Emory but if not, we will be fine.

Because of all the visits I just assumed if/when he defected it would be Bama. But for some reason FLA seems like a real threat.
He could walk in and start at UF. Maybe not probable, but possible.

He would enroll at OSU as the 4th string guy, later 3rd string when Burrow transfers. If Haskins and Martell are studs and don't bolt after 1 year of starting, he might not play in 4 years. Or Haskins could be a top pick in 17 months and Emory could beat out Tate to start in year 2.

With no insider knowledge or expertise of any kind of any kind whatsoever, I'm going to say Jones sticks with tOSU. I think that he's just enjoying keeping people guessing. As for Baldwin, yes he's a strong back-up plan if Jones doesn't come, but he also is maybe secondly a "we're pretty sure that Burrow's not going to beat out Haskins and is going to transfer" plan and maybe thirdly a "we want to move, starting with Haskins, towards placing a greater premium on strong passing vs. dual-threat QBs and we're not sure that Martell has that in him" plan.

I stand by this.

He is the carbon copy of Jalen Hurts. I want to pass on him badly, because I don't think he makes anyone better and will struggle in big games like Hurts and Barrett. I would love to flip Fields from Georgia, who reminds me of Mariota.

Hmmm . . . Wins natty as a true freshman, barely loses natty at the last second as a sophomore, is in the playoff as a junior. I can live with having a clone of such a lame QB.

Yeah, that’s why I said I could see FLA being a real threat. And Dan’s had Dak so he “knows the path”

I’ve always thought the argument against early playing time at a decently legit school is one of the hardest to overcome. Mullen has a history of success. Even worse, he’s from Meyers Tree so in theory it’s “Urban Lite”.

And you can potentially slide right in and get a lot of playing time? Nothing beats game reps. And school is just a long, protracted NFL job interview anyway. That’s harder to sell against IMO.

Yeah but you have to do it all in Gainesville.
