Yep same... outside of football season I change my package with sling to blue so i can watch hockey on nbc. I only need espn for the games itself but havent listened to their shit for years.

Reminds me... Wingo and Golic are brutal. First off theyre gone all the time so youre listening to their back ups mainly and second when they are on they just down right blow

Agree. Mike & Mike was unlistenable, mainly because it was basically an exercising in qualifying statements on any issue/never taking a position on any issue in an effort, I can only assume, not to offend anyone who may later be asked to be on the show. Yet, somehow, Golic and Wingo is even worse--anytime I tune in, it lasts for about 6 seconds: they're inevitably talking about something non-sports related that only Golic and Wingo find amusing, or the have their go-to guest Stugotz on the line (who, amazingly, may be the only person on the planet who can make the Golic and Wingo show less entertaining). It's the worst.

Local radio here can be the same. Adam the Bull is obsessed with TV shows, so he and Fox end up in a segment-long discussion about shit no one cares about on a sports talk network. Annoying AF

Back when I listened to the show, the Common Idiot and whatever his cohort's name is would do crap like that while he was doing his awful Matthew Perry on Friends schtick. Totally un-listenable.

The recent local coverage has put this in even starker contrast in Columbus. Tune in to 97.1 to listen to them talk about random shit that may or may not be entertaining. Tune in to 105.7 to listen to adults talking about the multitude of things going on with Urban Meyer and Ohio State.

I suspect 97.1 has lost and 105.7 has gained quite a few listeners over the past few weeks in Columbus. The difference couldn’t be more clear.

I think I’ve told this story before, but I hadn’t listened to common man for years when I tuned in to listen to them talk about Urban being hired back in the day. They proceeded to talk about Tim Tebow for 10 minutes and I turned it off again.

Apple Music/Amazon Prime Music/Pandora/Spotify for the win. Listen to all the music I like and no bullshit. Add in a little Bloomberg radio so that I know I can continue to capstone my life with high end happy hours.

used to listen to 1460/97.1 all day every day and then about the time of Tressel's ending I stopped and started listening to music instead. best thing for my day to day sanity. I listen to sirius/xm most of the day...helps me tolerate this hell hole

For me it was unlistenable for 2 reasons:
1. More commercials than content.
2. Even when they were talking they weren't saying anything. I'm sure we've all known that coworker that loves the sound of their own voice... that's all their talkshow ever was. Two guys that love the sound of their own voice more than their own children. It was like a sports version of a nagging wife.... just droning on forever about fuckall.

Yeap. Amazon music for me. Was fun to see they automatically added all the CDs relatives bought me back in the 2000s... thought those were all perma lost thanks to the dirt. Loaded the app and they automatically gave me all that stuff.
