Simms was awful and ridiculed accordingly. A woman should be freely able to broadcast, make a fool of herself and draw the ire and rebuke of listeners. When that awfulness is well established, it draws anger at the prospect of hearing them call a big game.

I do wonder how much of how I feel about her is based on my latent sexism; that maybe I subconsciously don’t want women in football broadcasting period - but then I remember that her voice just grates on me and I lean toward that as the reason.

Who thinks she is really good at play by play? Is anyone not annoyed by her voice? Has she risen to the point where she has earned graduating from broadcasting Rutgers at Iowa to MNF?

This smells like a PC move more than something done on a merit system.
