Anyone know if they are they gonna get ABC in HD? The NBC and CBS out of Columbus offer an HD channel but Channel 6 doesn't and that's the channel most Buckeye games are on during the year.

I have a mitsubishi 65 inch projection TV. I have direct tv with a samsung HD box. the picture is awesome in HD but it is a little fuzzy for regular programming. I wouldn't want to pay 6.95 for ESPN HD because only a few games a week are in HD. The saturday night college game and the sunday night nfl game are the only football games that have been broadcast in HD so far.

The NFL sunday ticket has 4 games this week in HD!!!!

I've still never seen a HD image and don't know anyone who has it. Do the retail stores (Best Buy/Circuit City) have it running on their displays.

The last time I was in the Best Buy off of Brice Road, which was several months ago, they had a TV set up with HD. I didn't know what all the fuss was until I got an HDTV box last week. I watch shows now I wouldn't have watched before just because it looks so cool.

Bucknutty,

TWC should have ABC HD channel, at least in cincinnati they do. I've been watching HD for over a year now. I don't bother watching anything in SD anymore unless it's on ESPN or Fox.

edit- Should note that with TWC even when local channels are not showing a program in HD the digital channel is still way better than the SD channel.

right, because channels 2-100 aren't digital.

I went to satellitte because of this...... Analogs are horrible! Is it just to expensive for Cable cos to have digital too?

In terms of HDTVs, I love my Sony XBR. Its a CRT and has incredible resolution (I will say that it is pricey for its size, but IMO better than anything around couple of grand).

For HDTV newbies I would definitely recommend -obviously ESPN HD- the colors and pictures from the LSU/Oregon State game were beautiful & the Discovery Channel- The shows about Alaska are incredible...

Have fun- cool stuff!

Right on Mr. woody. I find myself watching Discovery HD all the time just because everything looks so cool. The show on Volcanoes they did the other day was sweet.

Cincy, WSYX-6, the ABC channel in Columbus, doesn't offer HD yet. WCMH-4 (NBC) and WBNS-10 (CBS) do. Hopefully the ABC channel will follow suit soon because today's game and many others are on ABC.

you have to find someone that has one, and then watch it.
for some reason what they show at best buy does NO justice whatsoever to real HD.
HD is just beautiful.
i watched american chopper on their last week, and you could see the fingerprints on the chrome pieces.
