ESPN's biggest blown calls of all time.

Um, maybe I missed it, every time, but I don't think Shaq was hacked very often without the foul being called. Everytime he got the ball, the ref's blew the whistle. Which pissed me off, because most of the time he simply bulled his way over and through the defenders, which should be an offensive foul. Off topic though. Yeah, that 5th down TD was BS.

Actually both...every time he touches the ball he is hacked mercilessly but then again every time he dips that shoulder could be considered an offensive foul also. Kobe travels everytime he drives to the hoop...

God Bless College Sports

This is just the tip of the iceburg of the overall piss poor nature of refereeing in the NBA. Jordan, Magic, and Thomas all turned the ball over (palming for us old timers) every time they dribbled the ball. With all of the pushing and shoving, the NBA is nothing more than big time wrestling with a basketball.

sorry for going off topic there.......

They should have had the Charles White phantom touchdown in the Rose Bowl....

That goal that Maradonna scored in the 86' Argentina-England game is probably the most infamous call in history, internationally, given that it occured in a World Cup elimination game. It is known as the "Hand of God" goal.

I have grown to despise the new NBA. It caters to those who don't have the skill to play by the rules.

On another note, I think one of the worst calls in history has to be when in 1999 the Yankees tagged out a Red Sox player and missed by four feet.

I believe it was Jose Offerman, though I forget for sure.

Can't forget the Coin Toss at the Silverdome on Thanksgiving. That was funny stuff.

I am imagining that was the Florida/Atlanta deciding game in 1997 with Livan Hernandez pitching Dixie. They still talk about that once a game (at least) on TBS during Braves games (and the umpire was Eric Gregg I think).
It's ridiculous to hear anybody affiliated with the Braves bitch about ball/strike calls. Maddux, Glavine, & Smoltz have benefitted from expanded strike zones enough throughout their carreers to fill a 'bad calls' show of their own.

I agree jlb...especially with Glavine, who always seemed to get a foot outside the plate. I gotta say that was bad in that particular game, though, and it was totally one-sided. But I guess it's a lot like Phil Jackson bitching about officiating...
