Everyones opinion on seasons directions...

First I want to say good try bucks-and congrats on overachieving this year!

A question I have thought up based on our last 3 bowl games...would you guys rather lose 2 games during the regular season and win a mid tier maybe bcs game...

OR

go undefeated maybe lose 1 during the season and lose the title game?

To summarize - lose a couple and Win a bowl Or Lose none until the champ game?

Wow. I don't mean "wow" as in what a tough choice that would be. I mean "wow" as in the sense that who on this board, or any OSU board, or not even on any OSU board just simply an OSU fan, would have even entertained asking such a question 8 years ago?!?

Kinda puts into perspective the lofty expectations that we Buckeye fans have become accustomed to during the JT regime.

I'll try to be kind here. If you can't handle playing for national championships and losing, as opposed to winning the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl, then you are rooting for the wrong team. Give me the national championship game, every day of the week. If the team that I root for is playing on the final day of the college football season, something really good happened in September, October, and November.

Exactly.

If Ohio State loses 7 and ends up in the Championship game, I'd prefer that. Winning a bowl game is nice and all, but like 808 says, if playing for all the marbles and falling short is a problem, go root for Auburn or something.

...or search out some Sports Illustrateds from late November in the Cooper era.

I think our expectations are being inflated but I don't know that it is unnecessarily. 8 years ago we wanted our teams to do well, but just beat the school up North and win a bowl game--that was enough. Along comes Jim Tressel helping us dominate the series against our rival, taking us to 5 BCS bowl games (3 national championships) in a short span of time and truckin' right behind USC for the best record in that span of time. I know I expect more than I used to, but I don't necessarily look at that as my fault. We're obviously capable of more than we used to be.

Its not a bad thing to make the Championship and lose it is a accomplishment just to be there it just tOSu have been overmatched the last two years and the Big ten being stupid and letting tOSU have to wait 51 days till they play agian

Well, hrm... what would any fan rather have, a chance to win a bowl game or a chance to win the national title? I'll take a chance at the title every year, if you get to that game, you're halfway home. Any fan who says they would rather go to a different bowl game than the title game is full of it, even if you're the loser of that game I can think of 114 Division 1-A teams who would kill to be in your shoes.

Agreed, although I don't think we were overmatched this year. Just a few stupid decisions occured.

To me it's a bit like asking F*** a hot super freak all year and get kicked in the nuts once a year for repayment or Date the dumpy girl and get layed once a year, maybe twice if we include beating Michigan.... I can take a kick in the balls for a year for the joy of the freak :-D... but that's just how I see it.
