Fan Behavior and KH's Apology (Merged all)

"Obviously, there is still much work to do" ......Im sure she going to eliminate tailgating all together. HOLEbrook makes me sick.

I wonder what Texas fans would say if they went up to Wisconsin for a game.....I dont ever remember getting an apology from their President.

If any of our regular members (HL, Xray, texasfight06...) were mistreated, I'd like to know about it. Especially if it was in my lot.

Don't we already have a thread about this exact topic? :shake:

It seems our Texas visitors are a little light in their spurs nowadays, at least the ones who wrote in or bitch because someone said something about Texas. What happened to the Texas cowboys with tough skin and balls the size of baby heads? They obviously didn't make the trek. Well, you know what they say- only two things come from Tex.... :slappy:

Those 24 people should be thrown in the same sinking submarine as the authors of the Ryan Hamby letters. Along with Whorebroke.

Just another reason she has to go! I'm sure tailgates this week will be hit harder than ever. And to those who said it was not her leading the crack down on removing our tailgate tradition:

"Obviously, there is still much work to do"

That pretty much proves it.

Okay, I was not at the game, but how many Texas fans were there? 15,000? 24 complaints out of 15,000 fans does not sound too bad to me. Yeah, I'm sure there were more people who were taunted without provocation who never complained. So, even increasing that number ten fold you are still talking about not even 2% of their fans being treatly in a manner they feel is not appropriate. I'm not sure, but that does not seem too bad to me.

Now, let's talk about scheduling games at night. I'm not calling for the school to eliminate night game, but what do you think is going to happen when you allow people more time to sit around and get more pumped up for the game and quite a few will also spend that extra time getting more liquored up? Scooter mentioned people were waiting to get into the RV lot at 2:00 AM. You can do some serious tailgating in 18 hours.

Ultimately, this is going to do nothing but backfire on Holbrook. She is now going to be apologizing to each and every visiting fan who complains. And these apologies may or may not be legitimate. I hope to hell she has to spend every Sunday and Monday from here forward rifling off email apologies to the students who just decided to mess with her by filing bogus complaints. Hell, I'm thinking about filing a few myself (j/k). Reap what you sow, Karen!

Finally, how long before someone sues the university because of a hostile environment on public property somewhere in the city of Columbus before a game?

When I got a full un-opened beer can thrown at me in madison, then tackled when i was tossing a football with my friends, I didnt come back and whine to anyone about it.

guess I just dont care, or am not a bitch.

The taunting and stuff, whatever. If you can't handle that stay on your own turf.
Here's what bothers me- if I'm throwing a football with some buddies of mine and some cheesehead from Wisconsin comes over and lays me out, I'm beating that mother f-er until the cops show up. He better bring the wood if he wants to hit me from behind, because if I am conscience it'll be a good old fashioned demasculinity ceremony. As a Buckeye, that embarrasses me you just dusted yourself off and laughed about it. :sad2:
What a puss. :smash:

Anyway, my point is that crosses the line of acceptability

You gotta love the (edit) Holebrook chiming in and making the situation so much worse than it was. She sucks ass. The president of the finest university in the country, and she's a fuckin' apologist. Does she EVER say anything good about tOSU? For fuck's sake, she is supposed to be representing the University, and all she does is talk shit about the fans and environment. Damn I wish that toilet would fall from the sky and shatter her fuckin' ego.

Man, talk about dumbass fans. So, I'm a Wisky fan and I'm at one of our home games at Camp Randall against OSU and this Suckeye fan has the audacity to be THROWING A FOOTBALL with some of his friends. Man, talk about disrespectful! I decide to teach this punk a little lesson, so I run over and tackle him from behind. Next thing I know, he's beating the tar out of me and I end running home crying to my mother. Man, OSU fans are terrible. They all ought to be hung by their testicles from a willow tree and beaten severely with rubber hoses.

It's because she's from Georgia. She could give two shits about our school. She just wanted a high profile job. We need to hire a Buckeye to run the show.

CraigW99, I'm only giving you shit. Just pulling your chain.

I can remember being at the UCLA night game several years ago, and seeing a pretty long line of OSU "fans" yelling and taunting UCLA's band as they walked to the stadium. Some of them actually looked scared. While it was somewhat humorous that they looked scared, the bottom line is that the behavior by OSU fans was unacceptable. As was any of that same type of behavior directed at Texas fans last Saturday.

It's unfortunate that this happens, and that those who act this way think that they do so in order to "represent" or "defend" OSU. As Woody's quote in my sig reads- "you are Ohio State and they will respect you for that". The tradition and strength of our football team and our University speak for themselves; we don't need idiots telling our opponents that they suck to make us feel better about who we are.

I'm sorry to hear that some of the Texas fans got treated badly, I hate to hear about a few jackasses ruining the reputation of my alma mater. Normally, football fans at any opposing campus are good people and honestly hope that visitors enjoy themselves and see a good game. I've been to every stadium in the Big Ten, most times as a visiting Buckeye fan, and have almost always been treated with respect and good nature (even in ann arbor).

I guess there's really nothing to say about this other than to reiterate that the actions of a few drunken idiots do not represent the greater student body or fan base of The Ohio State University. Aside from that, just realize that this kind of thing happens everywhere. It isn't right, but you have to be ready for it if you go to another campus.

I'm sure that some of us who make the trip to Austin next fall will come back with stories of heckling and poor treatment from Texas fans. I know, however, that those people do not represent all Longhorns fans or the University of Texas. I am certain that, as a group, the Texas fans are good people who are looking forward to a great game and will be glad to see a few Buckeyes in town to cheer for OSU.

Now, let's quit bitching back and forth and play nice together.
