Fantasy Football Advice

Make sure you leave enough money to do some bidding at the end. You must have $1 per remaining spot, meaning you won't be able to bid $7 for David Wilson unless you leave at least $6 + $1 for every remaining roster spot.

There are a ton of QBs. Eli can usually be grabbed at a steep discount, never mind guys like Rivers or Big Ben. Wait on those guys.

I spent big on MJD & Megatron last year and was rewarded handsomely (almost won it all). Be ready to pay a premium for the best, do not do so for pretty good players. I'm not sure I'd spend the same on MJD this year, just an example about high ticket guys.

There are very few reliable backs so reserve some money for the right guy. McCoy goes for outrageous dollars in most auction drafts, if he's below $55, get him.

Receiver is a lot deeper. For me, I love loading up on top receivers but they can be had for a bargain. The 8th and 20th ranked receivers are not that different.

TE is very deep as well. Easy to snag a $1-3 steal late in the draft when no one has any money.

Great advice. Thank you. Already got Foster for $45 and Fitzgerald for $39.

So I had our Keeper league's draft last night, decided to log in early and arrange my queue with sleepers to draft later so I dont have to search for them. Picking second, I have my eye on McFadden when my time starts and the internet connection fails. Autopick kicks in since I'm not connected to the live draft and my first round selection is......

Brandon LaFell.

Fuck.

DL - Tuck
LB - Sean Weatherspoon

Here are the results of my auction draft last night. My glaring area of weakness is QB. My brother already had Romo and Vick and knew I was going after Eli, so he thought he would get cute and started running up the bid. When it got out of hand, I dropped out of the bidding so he was stuck with 3 QBs.

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have gotten so conservative after I bought my first 5 players. I didn't realize how significantly the prices were going to drop off at the end, and I could have easily paid up for another high quality player. Not to mention I had $16 left by the time my roster was full. Oh well, I'll know more for next time.

$45 Arian Foster
$39 Larry Fitzgerald
$20 Jamaal Charles
$22 DeMarco Murray
$13 Dwayne Bowe
$7 Beanie Wells
$11 Eric Decker
$7 BenJarvus Green-Ellis
$5 Tony Gonzalez
$2 Lance Moore
$4 Michael Bush
$2 Sidney Rice
$1 Andrew Luck
$2 Jay Cutler
$1 Jets DST
$2 Jason Hanson

Advice for the first pick (especially since I may be on autodraft for the first few rounds):
Available players said:
QB Rodgers, Brady, Brees
RB Foster, Rice, McCoy, Johnson, McFadden, Forte
WR Johnson
TE Graham
My Keepers: Jamaal Charles, Darren Sproles

QB is very deep, but Rodgers is ridiculous.

I just am not sure I trust either of my backs to be a sure thing and am leaning towards a third back, especially with how thin the talent pool is.

There are a lot of good, mid-draft WRs who will produce at 70% of the top-5 WRs.

Thoughts?

Is this for our keeper league? If so, it would probably be a conflict of interest to offer any advice beyond this... the list of players you gave includes a lot of guys that have been kept by other teams.

Available Players said:
QB [strike]Rodgers[/strike], Brady, Brees
RB [strike]Foster[/strike], [strike]Rice[/strike], [strike]McCoy[/strike], Johnson, [strike]McFadden[/strike], Forte
WR [strike]Johnson[/strike]
TE [strike]Graham[/strike]

Thanks, I thought it seemed odd that so many studs would be available. Maybe it doesn't remove them from the pre-ranking page, or perhaps I just didn't go to the right page?

Yeah, it doesn't remove them from the pre-ranking page. I just checked though, and they are removed under the regular "Players" page so if you look them up as if you're trying to claim a free agent, you'll see the players that haven't been kept.

Ok, so let's try again (and feel free to refrain if you're in the BP Deuce league):

Keepers RB Charles, Sproles

Available for #1 pick:

QB Brady, Brees
RB Johnson, Forte

Thoughts?

Two sleeper guys I have picked up on every team.

TE Tony Moeaki - Chiefs
RB/WR Dexter McCluster - Chiefs

Both were picked up with either my last pick or in Free Agency but I expect both to have great years. McCluster is particularly interested because he will get plenty of touches out of the backfield and as a slot receiver.
