Favorite and worst design features of Ohio Stadium

Ok everyone I need your help. What are your favorite design features of Ohio Stadium and the worst design features of Ohio Stadium. I'm doing a PowerPoint presentation for my Master's class.

These are the worst ones we've come up with

No permanent lighting for night games (possibly changing soon)
Lack of seat backs on for all seats
Men's bathroom behind 27a has half walls between urinals....so u're staring at other guys while you're peeing.

Favorite:
Large amount of gates available and gates all on same level
Big concourse btw gates and portals

worst, those damn pillars that block view in B deck

Agreed--this is the obvious and probably best answer. I will say, though, that another terrible place to sit is at the top of Section 13C--the press box and D deck block your view of the replay screen and all views of even the play clock. This may be better with the addition of the north end zone replay screen, but I'll bet it's still pretty bad up there.

In what section are the seats that are near the very top and right next to a pressbox or some other booth-like structure where you can only see about 60% of the field? It was shown during one of them games a few years back...

Difficulty getting to wheelchair accessible seating in upper decks. Yes, there are elevators, but there are only a few and there are always long lines filled with able bodied people too lazy to take the stairs.

When I've brought friends with me to games in C-Deck, they've always complained about the steps. By the time you get to the landing on C-Deck, they are out of breath and panting. You usually pass by an older married couple who are out of breath and stopped at the back of one of the landings inbetween flights of steps. I don't believe the amount of rise for each step is bigger than normal... it must just be the sheer amount of steps. It's never affected me, but I know the steps have been a slight problem for some people, especially our senior citizens.

I can vouch for those pillars in B-deck too. In addition, when I was 7 or 8, we used to have seats in 29C up against the side wall. There were a couple of games that season that were pretty darn cold and the wind travels up that wall at great pace. It would feel like a wind tunnel when it would gust. It was so hard to concentrate on the game because you were so cold. In addition, I remember the main scoreboard was either hard to see or not visible at all. I don't know if any of that has changed since the last big renovation when they expanded C-deck.

A couple of things I enjoy are, again, on the stairway up, being able to touch the red concrete banner that used to adorn the outside of the original structure at The Horseshoe. To be able to touch that is so cool and it was so neat that they did that when they did the last big addition onto the stadium. There's also a high number of vendors at each deck. The wait time has always been very minimal when I've had to get in line for concessions... except of course if you're waiting until 0:00 for the start of halftime to leave your seat.

D Deck. I sat there for 2006 OSU-Mich. Not bad seats aside from how far away we were.....but a ton of seats in D Deck have awful views.

Yeah, when I saw the blurb that ABC/ESPN did on it during the game I was thinking how pissed those fans had to have been.

I bought season tickets off a prof one year on ebay. his listing said he's always in A deck so I went for it. We had PSU and Mich at home so i figured i'd go to those and sell the others to pay for the whole thing.

Then he gets them and they're fucking D Deck. Let me tell you....nobody wants to sit in D Deck. I'm sure I lost a good amount of $ that year, but I got to see the #1 vs #2 game with my dad so I'm fine with it.

Is D Deck the area with the fans seats behind the scoreboard? Who would pay for that?

Aren't the seats to which Mililani is referring the higher level of C Deck right on the outside of D deck? It would be that area to the left of the pressbox that you can't see in the second of the 2 pictures below. Edit: After looking at a different picture, I think you're right too. The seats in D deck around the 35 yard lines are also affected and now that I think about it, it was those seats that they featured during the broadcast. My bad.

Those are B Deck. I sat there for the Texas game, though not at the very top of the section. You could see the whole field while sitting, but could not see the opposite end zone while standing. So when others stood up, you could only see by standing in a crouched position, and peering through bodies.
