Pinky and the Brain was great... but I was in college when they came out so I automatically discredit them. Because any "Favorite Cartoon" thread should be about your childhood cartoons. Of course they might be part of yours, so I will respectively disagree.

Was the 80s the golden age of children's cartoons? Forgot so many on my first list. I sat around last night talking with my brother and came up with what we think is a complete list of great toons from the 80s.

GI Joe
Transformers
Voltron
He-Man
Superfriends
SMURFS
Thundercats
Scooby Doo
Robotech
Dangermouse
Duck Tales
Fat Albert
Fraggle Rock (puppets, cartoons... same thing)
Inspector Gadget
Jetsons
Speed Racer
Wacky Races
Speed Racer
Inch High Private Eye
Top Cat
Hong Kong Phooey

My mid-80s after school ritual was to run home from school to watch GI Joe and The Transformers, then I'd switch to Nickelodeon to watch Dangermouse.

In high school I would watch Tiny Toons Adventures during breakfast. That show was very clever -- and despite being drawn in bright pastel colors to appeal to 8 year olds the humor was definately targeted to older audiences.

Now, at night (for myself) I'll watch South Park and Drawn Together. When the 4-year old is still awake and mommy won't let us go outside, we'll watch Teen Titans, The Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and The Fairly Odd Parents.
