OK, I was at Mesa Verde National Park (https://www.nps.gov/meve/index.htm) today and here's a picture of an excavated foundation of an ancient Indian house (before their houses in the cliffs) there:

A scan of a picture I took back in the 1990's of a bridge along the Galice Hwy going west out of Grants Pass Oregon, the river is the Rogue, theis is just a few miles west of Hellsgate Canyon where many movies have been filmed, most notably Johnny Depp's Dead Man
