Northern Harrier - Mrs. Katt took this one, but I was doing the dirty work trying to match speed with it while it cruised along outside the driver's side window.

I was just going to take a picture of the flower when the butterfly decided to land right on it. Fortuitous.

Roseate spoonbills, white ibises and glossy ibises fleeing the approach of a northern harrier.

The northern mockingbird is so easily photographed. This guy let me walk up to about 6 feet away and take 6-7 pictures while fussing with the manual focus. Very calm birds.

Domesticated muscovy duck. Stupid bird.

The endangered Florida Scrub Jay is endangered because it is too brave for it's own good. Poor bastards get run over all the time. I got several more shots of him sitting right next to the road about 10 feet away. Even the wild ones will eat from a human's hand. Dumb, dumb bird, but very nice to look at.

White pelicans

Turkey vultures are dumb, ugly, mostly evil birds. Stupid shits would sit on the path until we were 10 feet away, then fly off in a tiff, only to land about 50 feet further along the path. They started to hang out in the brush along the path and wait for us to wander by before they took off. Scared the shit out of us the first time that happened.

Wood storks....Ugly as sin up close, but quite the opposite from further away.

The osprey, the mascot for North Florida in case anyone missed the basketball game a couple months ago. They have sharp parts.

Anhinga - creepy fuck. See the Orlando thread for pictures of him preparing to eat a fish.

Sandhill crane. We were ecstatic to find a pair nesting at Madison Lake last summer. In Florida, they are just over-grown pigeons.

So many more pictures of birds, but that's it for now. I got some nice video of the reddish egret "dancing" while it hunts, but no good pictures of him. I love that guy.

Not my video, but for reference....

There were sea lions in the bay that would chase the fishing boats until they threw them food. Why the Sea Lion didn't go after the big ass marlin on the back of the boat is beyond me. We were in a water taxi right next to it.

some birds outside our deck on the cruise ship. Not as cool as the other bird pics, but still birds

I've always struggled with bird shots, especially in flight, so big props for some great bird pictures!

I'd love to say it's because of some great talent, but it's all about the kick-ass camera. I just have to find the bird and let auto-focus do all of the hard work.

What camera did you get? I'm too lazy to go look at that thread again.

I'm getting to the point where I'm itching for either a new lens or two, or an updated camera. My Sony Alpha A200 is a great camera, and I love shooting with it, but there are some lacking features (most notably the lack of good bracketing) that I'd like to get.

Canon t3i with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses. I think all of those were with the 55-250.

I was pleasantly surprised to find pictures from a trip in 2008 I thought I had lost to a hard drive crash while browsing my current external last night. This is an image I captured after getting off of the return ferry from the Statue of Liberty. Obviously I took it into Photoshop to do the selective coloring.

Here are a few pics from the TSO concert back in December. First time with front row seats for a TSO concert, and it was pretty darn awesome.

I like the blur on Joel in this, and the lights behind the blown out highlight give it a slight canvas-y look, which I kind of like.

James Lewis is a vocal beast, really great to listen to.

I'm finally getting around to picking out and processing photos from my trip back to Orlando at the end of January. I doubt this batch is going to be very productive, but I've found a few good ones.

This is probably going to be my favorite out of the bunch. Don't know why, but I love the feel the desaturated colors give it.

Cool pictures man. I didn't know you were a Meatloaf fan.
