FB/LB Adam Homan (official thread)

My question is, how much will Adam see the field this year as a starting FB?
Aside from short yardage situations, and Saine being pushed as a recieveing FB, what other offensive scenerio's would he get involved in?

Not sure if anyone noticed, but Adam Homan had a great game last night. It looked like him and Boren split the snaps. Opened holes for the RB?s, and caught a nice pass out of the backfield. Should be fun watching both these kids the next three years!!!

They were both in on some occasions, such as Saine's 1st TD.

Homan was in on the first TD for Saine, but I do not think Boren was. Now I think they both were in on the second one though.

They are replaying the game right now, and there can be no doubt; both Homan and Boren were in the game on Saine's first TD. Homan was lined up as a wingback.

I need to chime in on Adam Homan. Against Wisky, near the goal line, Adam Homan and Z. Boren were used to push with the O-line, and get yardage. I was always wondering if we would ever find a combination to "Surge" the line when needed. I think adding Adam Homan was a great idea, and I liked it. Hopefully, Coach Tressel will take note of this. Good job Adam!

Oh, brother!
Ross and Adam Homan share a special bond as one of three sets of siblings currently on the Buckeyes' roster

RUMBLIN': Fullback Adam Homan tries to elude a Marshall defender after making a catch in the second half of the opener. Homan has three receptions for 18 yards this season. (Neal C. Lauron, Dispatch)

For Adam Homan, keeping up with big brother Ross always has been a focus and a challenge.

As they were growing up in the small town of Coldwater, Ohio, southwest of Grand Lake St. Marys, "He always wanted to follow me, he always wanted to do what I would do," Ross said. "Like when I wanted to play football with my friends, he always wanted to play, too."

The feeling, however, wasn't always mutual.

"Sometimes I'd jump on my bike knowing I could pedal faster than he could, and I'd just take off," Ross said, laughing. "He'd go crying to Mom."

Little brother caught up soon enough - just check the Ohio State roster today as the Buckeyes take on Penn State. Ross is a fifth-year senior linebacker and co-captain who is expected to return after sitting out the past two games because of a sprained foot. Adam is a sophomore fullback who has been a mainstay on special teams and has seen more action with the offense in recent weeks.

"When it's all said and done, I figure we will look back and say that was kind of crazy, how we played with each other for two years at a place so great and special as Ohio State," Ross said.

Though such an experience isn't common, there are three sets of brothers on the OSU roster. Joining the Homans are: Justin Boren, a senior left guard, and Zach Boren, a sophomore fullback, of Pickerington; and Connor Smith, a senior guard, and Spencer Smith, a junior tight end, of Cincinnati.

"I know Zach and I take it for granted, and I know Ross and Adam probably do, too," Justin Boren said. But, Boren added, "If you sit back and think about it, it's pretty neat."

Adam Homan said, "We're very grateful for this."

Three Buckeyes Named to NFF Honor Society
Only 19 from the Big Ten Conference honored
May 3, 2013

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State had three of the 19 student-athletes from the Big Ten Conference who were honored and named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame's (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society yesterday.

Buckeyes from the 2012 team named to the NFF's relatively new - it is in its seventh year - honor society are Ben Buchanan, from Westerville, Ohio, Adam Homan (Coldwater, Ohio) and Stewart Smith (New Albany, Ohio).

All three individuals met criteria for admission that included being a starter or significant reserve in one's last year of eligibility, carrying a minimum 3.2 cumlative grade point average throughout the entire course of undergraduate study, and meeting all NCAA-mandated progress toward degree requirements and graduation.

Homan, a fullback and key special team's player for the Buckeyes who played in nine games this year (he missed three because of injury) and 43 for his career, will graduate Sunday with his degree in exercise science.
