Firefox mass deployment updates

We are trying to figure the best way to maintain Firefox updates. Most users here are non-admins, so we turn off Firefox's auto-update feature when deploying the machines. As time goes on, the software gets outdated.

We can use Active Directory deployment to push software updates using group policy, but only for programs with MSI installers. Mozilla does not release an MSI installer for Firefox.

I found a website called FrontMotion that produces MSI installers for Firefox. We tested a bit yesterday and were able to use their MSI files to update Firefox successfully.

Before we proceed with this on a large scale, however, I thought I'd check in with others to see what they are doing in this situation.

Thanks in advance.

We're getting ready to roll out LANDesk for patching and software intstallation among other things. Other similar products we looked at were Microsoft SMS and Altiris. LANDesk seemed to be the easiest to use and have the most options including Mac and Linux support.

Those products are all big bucks, so a cheaper solution might not be easy to find. We've gone awhile without the ability to automatically update some products so I'm looking forward to trying out LANDesk.
