Man, what a way to start off spring quarter! Had class from 10:30 to 11:30, then went out and played about 4 hours of sand volleyball and football, went to my organic chemistry lab at 5:30 (damnit), but was pleased to see that the girl sitting next to me for the entire quarter is extraordinarily attractive (quite a rarity in the field of organic chemistry).
Bought books, etc. etc. Then I went running for the first time of the quarter. My route is usually down Woodruff, around the stadium twice, down Neil, across 12th, up College, across the oval, and back to Mirror Lake to get some fuel. Well...when I passed by the stadium, the north rotunda gates were WIDE OPEN! I peaked in...no one was there. So I went down to A deck. Surprisingly there were about 5 other people running around A and AA deck. I jumped down to AA deck, and jogged towards the south stands. Once I got as far as I could, I looked around...no where to exit. I looked at the field...oh well, I thought, you only live once, right? Jumped off the rail and BOOKED it across the field. I had the ipod strapped to my arm and the music pumping. When I got to the center of the field I couldn't help but take a pause, while at the same time trying to resist yelling out "WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE" at the top of my lungs. When I got to the other side I bumped into one of the custodial staff. The guy didn't care. Apparently the administration knows that if they keep gates open for maintainence there will invariably be curious runners who want to take a peek. They aren't happy when you run across the field, but it was still torn up from the Michigan game (patches of grass dead/missing, the endzone paint is faded to the point that you can barely make out the letters). Run across the field the week before the spring game (or any time in the autumn for that matter) and you're in for some shit.
Now I gotta ice down my legs cause they're sore as hell from all the running around.
