OSU had all of the B1G prestige in the world last year, and it wildly overrated them. Meanwhile the league was perceived to be absolute trash in 2014 and they wrecked everyone in the postseason.

If OSU has their own problems, then it matters whether the league is garbage. OSU had their own spectacular problems in 2006 & 2007, so suddenly it mattered what their league was like.

Hint: the SEC has been pretty iffy for a few years now, but because Bama has remained Bama, it hasn't mattered. Same with OSU 2015 (unfortunately they had their own flaws). Same with USC, Miami and FSU back in the day.

OK, let's reset my reasons. I will never root for a team/school with the statue of a Confederate general on its campus, or whose state seceded from the Union.

And I can't believe people who will spend 11 months of the year pissing and moaning about the excesses of SEC football and basketball would take the position of preferring one of those teams in a game against a Big Ten opponent and if that makes me "insanely idiotic" then I am in good company.

"When our Big Ten brothers are playing Notre Dame, we're always rooting for them," Tressel said. "I'm rooting for our Big Ten partners. I want our strength of conference to be as good as it can be."

That situation no longer exists. We have a 4 team playoff. Get with the times.

Well, there's that... and.. Coaches are in unique positions when answering such questions as ambassadors of their respective conferences. Likewise, there's a difference between accepting that there are other strong teams in your conference, and rooting for them. I'll castrate myself with a belt sander before I root for those fuckbags.
