Looking at UEFA qualifying for the WC....in Group A is Sweden, France, and the Netherlands. So one will auto, another will go into the 2nd place grouping and likely qualify....while one of them will be kicked to the curb.

I was against the WC expanding but maybe not a bad idea.

It's just the luck of the draw and the fact that some traditional teams have fallen off, in some cases quite a bit. Each group is drawn from 6 pits based on UEFA ranking...surprisingly, France and Italy were in Pot 2, and Sweden is Pot 3 (as are Poland and Ukraine). So it ends up with skewed groups in a sense.

Also surprising is that the Dutch are still Pot 1, because it seems like they have been awful of late.

Don't know why, but I'm not really interested in the Confederations Cup.

I think it's because it mixes two things I don't really care for: FIFA and Russia.
Don't feel the interest level here either. However, today's opener is a good one- Mexico/Portugal.

CR7 had a rocket volley off his left, hit the post, rebounded out before being crossed back and headed in by Pepe...only to be overturned on video review for offsides.
