Fox Sports 1 (at least its not ESPN)

It wouldn't necessarily have to be a "live game" for me to watch. The behind the scenes stories, historical stories, recruiting analysis, and/or player profiles, etc. would/could be interesting; sort of what the NFL does with NFL Films, BTN's "The Journey", or ESPN's Outside The Lines, etc.

I'm sure that Fox has the capacity for that kind of programming, but that wasn't the question that I was responding to, from BVistahC. At least that's not how I read the question. The question asked was whether Fox had enough channels available to show all of the Big Ten games live, during a non-conference week. I think that Fox can handle it, based on their current number of channels.

Yeah, they can handle it.

BTN has one channel and two overflows.

FS2 isn't viable at this time, but may be in the future. So that's five channels (at one time), not counting the regional FSN's (which I don't know if the Big Ten would agree to).

That should be enough for 14 Big Ten schools to split between 3-4 broadcast windows on a non-conference Saturday (I think).

Technically, having Dan O'Toole and Jay Onrait in Sochi works because 11 p.m. ET is 8 a.m. Sochi time, so they can go live for segments.

But if 'FOX Sports Live' didn't get a bump from the Super Bowl (which they didn't), being at the Olympics probably won't work. But they're also in the first year of the network.

I've never heard of him previously, but FOX Sports 1 has added someone name Frank Luntz to its "FOX Sports Live" show for regular features.

I only caught a few seconds before fast-forwarding, but I don't know who would consider discussion groups -- what Luntz is doing -- as good television. Evidently, FOX does.

FOX SPORTS LAYING OFF ITS WRITERS AT REGIONAL NETWORKS? (UPDATED)

On Friday news began leaking out on Twitter that Fox Sports was laying off its regional writers. While Fox has launched two national networks recently in Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, it still contains a robust network of 18 regional channels (plus YES) that span coast to coast. The regional networks are a significant aspect of Fox’s sporting empire as they house local sports rights from the NBA, NHL, and MLB all across the country.

We do know of at least one prominent regional writer that has confirmed being let go – Zac Jackson of Fox Sports Ohio. Jackson told Clevescene.com that June 30 would be his last day at FSO. Multiple sources told the site that the cuts were across the board at the network and that “similar conversations” were being had at other Fox Sports regional networks. This news comes after Fox Sports discontinued the “Fox Sports Girls” promotional efforts at all of their regional networks. Although the Fox Sports Girls page is still live online, theTwitter and Facebook accounts are now error pages.
