G/F Evan "The Villain" Turner (2010 Naismith Winner)

Talent for the future:

04 = 0 five, 2 four stars.
06 = 3 five, 2 four stars.
07 = 1 five, 3 four stars. (possible: Mayo 5* or Turner 4*)
08 = 2 five, . (possible: Gates 5*, Crater 4*, Roe 4*)

- Crater and Roe may end up as 5*s soon.

(both 05 recruits transferred (bell, mayes))
After Roe's showing his last camp, a 5* rating is not out of reach at all.

THAD MATTA IS MY HERO!!! Welcome aboard Evan!!

Thought I would point out that Rivals has Evan ranked as a 5* and the #23 overall player in the nation and Scout has him ranked as a 4* and the #49 player overall.

Gotta love a player as versatile as Turner. SF/SG/PG. Special kid!

I guess at BN$ they are saying that Tyus will NOT be part of this class. The class is done unless Mayo wants to come aboard.

I'm not a premium member there, this is just what someone who is posted on the free board.

As regards talent for the future, if you look at overall ranking within the Scout top 100 you get:

2006 = #1, #13, #28, #31

2007 = #15, #49, #62, "86

2008 - #13, #17

Note also that no other player in the top 25 for the class of 2008 (which is how far down they are rated at this point) has committed anywhere.

So the potential is there (however unlikely it is that Oden stays that long) to field a team in 2008 that includes five players ranked 17th or lower in their class.

To add a bit more perspective, the highest rated player within the top 100 to commit to OSU from 2002 through 2005 was Ivan Harris at #48. As much as we all love Jamar (and I LOVE Jamar) his national ranking at #69 is behind 9 of the 10 recruits referenced above.

Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. After each recruit commits I am simply amazed. He owns Ohio recruiting and he is getting real close to owning the entire Midwest. To go to Chicago and to beat out Illinois for this kid...he just out works others
