2025 GA OL Mason Short (Georgia Verbal)

Heck UC even has a helicopter. I remember Brian Kelly used to use it to get around Cincy on Fridays to catch as many games as possible. I'm sure @Honor&Glory remembers those days in the early 2000s
First Friday UC had it out was to fly Kelly to Colerain with new DB coach Kerry Coombs to visit. As crazy as it sounds that started the elevation of the Bearcat program. Dantonio was good recruiting locally. But Kelly made an impression immediately. Like him or hate Body Count, he sold the hell out of that university

Ahhh good sir then you must not realize the amount of money these schools have.

It's not just the money, it's also the logistics.

Why spend millions on a helicopter you use 10 times a year, a pilot, maintenance, and insurance when you can just spend a few grand on renting one?!

Also, if you own one, you need to get it to where you want it to be. What if you need it in Atlanta? Flying it from Columbus has got to be hundreds or thousands of dollars in fuel.

It just makes so much more sense to rent that I'd have to see tangible proof to the contrary to believe it.

Look at Cincy's coaching list, and maybe start calling the Bearcats 'the cradle of Power five coaches'. Long list of big-time coaches got their start there. We'll see how Fickel stacks up over time.
